Policy roundtable results – July
KAP’s July policy roundtable focused questions on mandatory training for entry level truck drivers. Respondents generally agreed that MELT will improve safety on the road, but the province may not be adequately prepared for it. Respondents also indicated concern about fitting the time into their schedule, the lack of approved driving schools, the inability to get registered for a road test, and the cost of the training. Farm safety tip
The operator’s manual for your tractor tells you the maximum slope along which you can safely drive that particular machine. Tractor rollovers are one of the most common causes of death and injury among farmers, so it is important that you know this information to avoid a serious incident.
