Would you like to spend two days learning about Lake Erie science and opportunities, and walk away with a year's worth of story ideas? Ohio Sea Grant and Stone Lab are hosting the 2019 Lake Erie Workshop for Science and Outdoor Writers to help you do just that.

We'll have key experts covering important Lake Erie issues like
  • harmful algal blooms and water quality
  • Lake Erie fisheries
  • marine debris and pollution
The workshop also includes
  • a Lake Erie science cruise on a Stone Lab research boat
  • tours of Gibraltar Island, historic buildings and research facilities
  • hands-on science experiences like plankton sampling and fish trawls
Please RSVP online by August 16. Registration is limited.

Registered attendees should take the Miller Ferry from Catawba Point (5174 E. Water Street Port Clinton, OH 43452) to South Bass Island on August 27. Stone Lab vans will meet the ferry that departs at 9:30 a.m.
