EL PASO, Texas — Cross-town traffic is encouraged to use Loop 375 (Transmountain Road) on Sunday, August 11, to avoid a complete closure of Interstate 10 in both directions at US 54 in Central El Paso.
 
This 27-hour complete closure will allow crews to place concrete bridge girders over I-10 for one of four new direct connector ramps being built as part of the I-10 Connect Project.



Below is a detailed list of roadways and ramps which will be closed from
3am on Sunday, August 11, through 6am on Monday, August 12:

  • I-10 will be closed to all traffic in both directions at US 54.
  • Ramp C which connects northbound US 54 to westbound I-10 will be closed to all traffic.
  • Ramp F which connects westbound I-10 to Juárez will be closed to all traffic.
  • Ramp G which connects eastbound I-10 to Juárez will be closed to all traffic.
  • Ramp H which connects eastbound I-10 to northbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic.
  • Ramp L which connects Gateway Boulevard West to westbound I-10 at Raynolds will be closed to all traffic.
  • The on-ramp which connects Gateway Boulevard East to eastbound I-10 at Loop 478 (Copia Street) will be closed to all traffic.
  • EASTBOUND I-10 DETOUR: All traffic must take Exit 22A (Loop 478/Copia Street), continue on Gateway East to Raynolds and re-enter I-10. 
  • EASTBOUND I-10 DETOUR TO NORTHBOUND US 54: After taking the above detour, take Exit 24B (Trowbridge Drive), take the newly widened turnaround at Trowbridge, enter westbound I-10, take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss) to northbound US 54.
  • EASTBOUND I-10 DETOUR TO JUÁREZ: After taking the above detour, continue on Gateway East and turn left on US 62 (Paisano Drive) to the Bridge of the Americas.
  • WESTBOUND I-10 DETOUR: All traffic must take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss) to northbound US 54, take Exit 23 (Cassidy Road/Fort Bliss), take Exit 22B (Pershing Drive) and use the newly widened turnaround at Pershing to enter southbound US 54, then follow signs to signs to westbound I-10 or Juárez.

Sunday, August 11, through Saturday, August 31
Continuous closure
  • Ramp E which connects Gateway Boulevard South to US 54 at Yandell Drive will be closed to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Enter southbound US 54 from Gateway South at Pershing.

Sunday, August 11 through Thursday, August 15
Nightly 9pm to 5am
  • US 62 (Paisano Drive) will be closed to all traffic at US 54.
  • DETOURS: Eastbound traffic will turn right on San Marcial Street, left on Delta Drive, and left on Boone Street before returning to Paisano. Westbound traffic will turn right on Gateway Boulevard North, left on SH 20 (Alameda Avenue), and left on Loop 478 (Copia Street) before returning to Paisano.
Crews will be working on an overhead bridge deck.

Monday, August 12, through Thursday, August 15
Nightly 9pm to 5am
  • Ramp F which connects westbound I-10 to Juárez will close to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss) to northbound US 54, take Exit 23 (Cassidy Road/Fort Bliss), take Exit 22B (Pershing Drive), use the turnaround to enter southbound US 54 and follow signs to Juárez.
  • Ramp G which connects eastbound I-10 to Juárez will close to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss) to northbound US 54, take Exit 22B (Pershing Drive), use the turnaround to enter southbound US 54 and follow sigs to Juárez.
  • Gateway Boulevard East will be intermittently closed to all traffic at Lincoln Center.
 
Crews will be preparing part of an exiting ramp for demolition. 


Monday, August 12, and Wednesday, August 14
Nightly 9pm to 5am

  • Ramp K which connects southbound US 54 to westbound I-10 will be closed to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Take Exit 21A (I-10 East/Van Horn) to eastbound I-10, take Exit 24B (Trowbridge Drive), and use the newly widened turnaround at Trowbridge to enter westbound I-10.

 
Crews will be placing bridge girders.

Thursday, August 15
9pm to 5am
  • Ramp B which connects northbound US 54 to Gateway Boulevard North at Montana Avenue will be closed to all traffic.
  • Ramp C which connects northbound US 54 to westbound I-10 will be closed to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Take Exit 23 (Cassidy Road/Fort Bliss), take Exit 22B (Pershing Drive), use the turnaround to re-enter southbound US 54, then take Exit 21B (I-10 West/Las Cruces) or Exit 21C (Montana Avenue).
Crews will be placing bridge girders.

Beginning Monday, August 12 and continuing until further notice
Daily 9am to 4pm

  • Alternating complete closures of Durazno Avenue and Rosa Avenue between Bowie Street and Uva Street.
  • DETOUR: When Durazno is closed, detour via Rosa; When Rosa is closed, detour via Durazno.

Crews will be working on an overhead structures.

On-going traffic impacts which will continue during the week of August 12

  • Daily complete closures will be in place on Durazno Avenue between Bowie Street and Uva Street.
  • Ramp T which connects Gateway Boulevard North to northbound US 54 north of US 62 (Paisano Drive) remains closed until further notice.
  • Both turnarounds under US 54 at US 62 (Paisano Drive) remain closed until further notice.
  • Intermittent lane closures will be in place on Gateway Boulevard East between Piedras Street and US 62/180 (Paisano Drive).
  • Intermittent lane closures will be in place on Gateway Boulevard West between Boone Street and Palm Street.
  • Lane closures are in place on eastbound and westbound SH 20 (Alameda Avenue) at US 54 until further notice.
  • Lane closures are in place on eastbound and westbound US 62 (Paisano Drive) at US 54 until further notice.
  • Lane closures are in place on northbound and southbound US 54 between Loop 375 and Spur 601 until further notice.
  • Lane closures are in place on Ramp D which connects southbound US 54 to eastbound I-10 until further notice.
  • Lane closures are in place on Gateway Boulevard South between Findley Avenue and US 62 (Paisano Drive) until further notice.

 
All closures are subject to change due to weather or field conditions. On ramps and off ramps may close up to an hour before stated times.

About the I-10 Connect Project

The I-10 Connect project is at the intersection of Interstate 10 and US 54 in El Paso County. The project extends from I-10 to Loop 375 (Cesar Chávez Border Highway) and provides access to the Bridge of the Americas (BOTA) via I-110. The $96 million project includes the construction of four new direct connectors, a full reconstruction of the I-110/US 62 (Paisano Drive) interchange, and removes exit ramps from US 62 to I-110.

I-10 Connect will improve connectivity between I-10 and Loop 375, also providing an alternate route to I-10. It started February 19, 2019, and is expected to be complete in less than three years.

EL PASO, Texas — Se les recomienda a los automovilistas que transcurren la ciudad el domingo 11 de agosto utilizar el Circuito 375 (Transmountain Road) para evitar el área de I-10 y US 54 si les es posible.
 
Durante este cierre de 27 horas las cuadrillas instalan vigas de concreto sobre I-10 para una de cuatro nuevas rampas interconectoras que son parte del Proyecto I-10 Connect.



Lista de las calles y rampas que cierran desde las
3am el domingo 11 hasta 6am el lunes 12 de agosto:

  • I-10 Oeste estará cerrado al tráfico entre la calle Copia Reynolds.
  • I-10 Este estará cerrado al tráfico a la altura de US 54.

  • La Rampa H que conecta I-10 Este a US 54 Norte estará cerrada para todo tráfico.
  • La Rampa L que conecta Gateway Boulevard Oeste a I-10 Oeste sobre Raynolds estará cerrada para todo tráfico.
  • La rampa de acceso al Gateway Boulevard Este para I-10 Este sobre Circuito 478 (Copia Street) Raynolds estará cerrada para todo tráfico.
  • DESVIACIÓN I-10 ESTE: Todo tráfico toma Salida 22A (Circuito 478/Copia Street), continua en Gateway Blvd. Este a Raynolds y se vuelve a integrar al I-10.
  • DESVIACIÓN I-10 ESTE HACIA US 54 NORTE: Después de desviar al I-10, tomar Salida 24B (Trowbridge Drive), utilizar retorno en Trowbridge, integrarse al I-10 Oeste, tomar Salida 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss) al US 54 Norte.
  • DESVIACIÓN I-10 ESTE A CD. JUÁREZ: Despues de desviar, continuar en Gateway Blvd. Este y doblar a la izquierda en US 62 (Paisano Drive) hacia el Puente Internacional de las Americas.
  • DESVIACIÓN I-10 OESTE: Todo tráfico toma Salida 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss) hacia US 54 Norte, toma Salida 23 (Cassidy Road/Fort Bliss), toma Salida 22B (Pershing Drive) usa retorno en Pershing para integrarse al US 54 Sur, seguir señalamientos a I-10 Oeste o a Cd. Juárez.

Domingo 11 hasta sábado 31de agosto
Cierre continuo
  • La Rampa E que conecta Gateway Boulevard Sur a US 54 sobre Yandell Drive estará cerrada para todo tráfico.
  • DESVIACIÓN: Tomar US 54 Sur de Gateway Blvd. Sur sobre Pershing.

Domingo 11 hasta jueves 15 de agosto
Cada noche 9pm a 5am
  • US 62 (Paisano Drive) estará cerrado para todo tráfico sobre US 54.
  • DESVIACIONES: Tráfico desde el este dobla a la derecha en la Calle San Marcial, izquierda en Delta Drive, izquierda en Calle Boone antes de llegar a Paisano. Tráfico desde el oeste dobla a la derecha en Gateway Boulevard Norte, izquierda en SH 20 (Alameda Avenue), izquierda en Circuito 478 (Copia Street) antes de llegar a Paisano.
Cuadrillas trabajan en la losa de concreto para el puente.

Lunes 12 hasta jueves 15 de agosto
Cada noche 9pm a 5am
  • La Rampa F que conecta I-10 Oeste a Cd. Juárez estará cerrada para todo tráfico.
  • DESVIACIÓN: Tomar Salida 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss) a US 54 Norte, tomar Salida 23 (Cassidy Road/Fort Bliss), tomar Salida 22B (Pershing Drive), utilizar retorno hacia US 54 Sur y seguir señalamientos a Cd. Juárez.
  • La Rampa G que conecta I-10 Este a Cd. Juárez estará cerrada para todo tráfico.
  • DESVIACIÓN: Tomar Salida 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss) a US 54 Norte, tomar Salida 22B (Pershing Drive), utilizar retorno hacia US 54 Sur y seguir señalamientos a Cd. Juárez.
  • Gateway Boulevard Este cierra de manera intermitente sobre Lincoln Center.
Cuadrillas preparan parte de una rampa existente para demolerla.


Lunes 12 y miércoles 14 de agosto
Cada noche 9pm a 5am

  • La Rampa K que conecta US 54 Sur a I-10 Oeste estará cerrada para todo tráfico.
  • DESVIACIÓN: Tomar Salida 21A (I-10 East/Van Horn) hacia I-10 Este, tomar Salida 24B (Trowbridge Drive), utilizar el retorno en Trowbridge para incorporarse al I-10 Oeste.

Cuadrillas instalan vigas de los puentes.

Jueves 15 de agosto
9pm a 5am
  • La Rampa B que conecta US 54 Norte a Gateway Boulevard Norte sobre Montana Avenue estará cerrada para todo tráfico.
  • La Rampa C que conecta US 54 Norte a I-10 Oeste estará cerrada para todo tráfico.
  • DESVIACIÓN: Tomar Salida 23 (Cassidy Road/Fort Bliss), tomar Salida 22B (Pershing Drive), utilizar retorno hacia US 54 Sur, tomar Salida 21B (I-10 West/Las Cruces) o Salida 21C (Montana Avenue).
Cuadrillas instalan vigas de los puentes.

A partir del lunes 12 de agosto y continua hasta nuevo aviso
Diario 9am a 4pm

  • Rotando cierres completos de Avenidas Durazno y Rosa entre Calles Bowie y Uva.
  • DESVIACIÓN: Cuando cierra Durazno, desviar por Rosa; Cuando cierra Rosa, desviar por Durazno.

Cuadrillas trabajan en estructuras superiores.

Impactos al tráfico que continúan durante la semana del 12 de agosto:

  • Rotando cierres completos de Avenidas Durazno y Rosa entre Calles Bowie y Uva.
  • La Rampa T que conecta Gateway Norte Boulevard a US-54 Norte al norte de US 62 (Paisano) permanecerá cerrada hasta nuevo aviso

  • Cierres intermitentes de carriles en Gateway Boulevard Oeste entre Calles Boone y Palm.
  • Cierres de carriles en efecto en ambos sentidos de SH 20 (Alameda Avenue) sobre US 54 hasta nuevo aviso
  • Cierres de carriles en efecto ambos sentidos de US 62 (Paisano Drive) sobre US 54 hasta nuevo aviso.
