WHAT TO EXPECT
Please scroll down and read through this communication to see all that is happening such as the Back to School Bash that includes a potluck meal following church. This Sunday at 10 am the music will be led by Nate, the praise band instrumentalists, Nora DeWater, and Peggy Rein. We will incorporate some outstanding Ellie Holcomb music as well as a great song entitled "Still" from the “Hillary Scott & the Scott Family - Love Remains album.
For many, school is back in session. It is a time when schedules are quickly being filled and emotions range from joy to panic with what lies ahead. This time can also be an invitation to reflect about how what God values is reflected in how we spend our time and deem important. This Sunday I hope to share with you what I have been thinking about when it comes to how our lives needs to bend toward that which God would have us value and why that is not only important but life giving. Hebrews 11:1-3 and Luke 12:32-40 are the scripture texts.
Fred Rogers of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood always concluded his remarks with the simple benediction: "May God be with you." He didn't say, "God bless you" - asking God to do something new. He knew that God had already blessed the children (and all), couldn't help but bless them, would always seek to bless them. "May God be with you" meant "I hope that you are aware that God is with you.”
So, on this Friday I, too, say “May God be with you” and we hope to see you here for some great music and worship! |

Back to School Bash
and
Annual Blessing of the Backpacks Worship
@ 10 a.m.
Don't miss out!
Bring a your family, a new or old school friend and celebrate the start of a new school year with us at our Back to School Bash THIS SUNDAY. The event begins at 10 a.m. with our Annual Blessing of the Backpacks Worship Service. Children of all ages are encouraged to bring their backpacks and receive a special blessing. Following the worship service, we will have an all-church picnic complete with an inflatable waterslide, water balloon toss, and yard games!
Additionally, adults and children will have an opportunity to learn about our mission, service, fellowship and faith formation activities planned for the upcoming year. Please bring a dish to share! The church will provide paper products, drinks, and popsicles for dessert. We look forward to seeing you, your family and friends THIS SUNDAY to celebrate the start of a new school year!

Your Input Is Needed!

We are holding focus groups this month to gather input from all EBPC members (youth and adults) about their hopes, dreams and direction of our Youth Program in the future. Our first focus group is THIS SUNDAY at 9 a.m. Please make plans to attend one of these upcoming focus groups to make your voice and ideas heard, plus enjoy some tasty donuts on us. Donuts at 9a, a Blessing of your backpack at 10a, and then a picnic with games afterwards. You can't beat that...join us!

The first days of school are over, and it is time for parents to have a much needed night of fun and revelry all supporting a good cause! It's that time! Music in the Grove will be here before we know it. Our planning committee is working hard cooking up another great afternoon of excellent music, delicious food and lots of fun and games for the whole family. We have some great bands lined up so far, some really tasty food trucks committed and all sorts of fun and games for the young and young at heart. Trust us, you don't want to miss this fantastic EBPC tradition. Mark your calendars now and make plans to join us on Saturday, September 7 from 4-6 p.m. This is going to be a great time!
