I woke in the night and couldn't go back to sleep. My remedy is to get up and pray. I returned to sleep after the Spirit reminded my heart to stop regularly in the day for thanksgiving.

The journey Abraham took
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
Hebrews 11:8 - NKJV
Faith tugs at us to rise from our armchairs! Faith tugs us with sights of things as yet invisible. By faith Abraham went out. Faith tugged him up from his reposing in his dwelling in Haran to go out. He went out from where he was - and what he'd known - to journey towards what he had been given promise of. This was an adventurous journey he set off on. Heb.11:8-12.
The natural adventurers of this world respond to a tug of faith. It is only, though, a faith in themselves, a faith in people who've gone before them or a faith in research related to the exploit. It is all very different for the people of God. The faith that tugs them comes from the Lord God and His precious promises to them. It sets them off on adventurous journeys like Abraham. This is divine faith. It comes to us by hearing the word of God. It is brought to life for us by the Holy Spirit. This faith calls us to be strong and do exploits. We believe that what God has promised can come to pass in our lives! Rom.10:17.
The account of Abraham's adventurous life by faith is recorded to encourage us. It is an example of what faith in God can bring about. Abraham's journey was leisurely in many ways but it was always towards the promise that he would be blessed and become a blessing. Let's join him. Let's start this faith journey. Instead of reposing in regular ways, let's go out into the adventure of faith. We can conduct ourselves as people of faith in our time and in our circumstance. We can even join the list of those catalogued in the "By Faith" chapter in the letter to the Hebrews, folks such as, Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also David and Samuel and the prophets. Heb.11:32.
Rise above the ordinary on the wings of divine faith!
