Hello and welcome!

You should have received your OnePlace login details and passwords - if you haven't received this information, please let us know! You can access the link to the login page HERE (which can also be accessed via the home page of the RBD Community webpage). We recommend saving OnePlace as a favourite in your browser for convenient access.

All members are invited to an online demo and Q&A session at 2pm on the 29 September to take place over Teams.  Please register your details HERE if you would like to attend.  We would be delighted to see you on the call and explain how the dashboard works and also hear of any feedback you might have to share with us!
InnoTrans must have been the most used hashtag last week across the rail industry!  We had a really productive visit - although we were disappointed not to be able to meet with everyone as there just wasn't enough time!  We hope it was a successful event if you did attend/exhibit - and although we may not have met while we were there, please do get in touch if there is something we can help you with!

As always, please contact us if you think there is something we can support you with, and also - if you have any news you would like us to share with the community, send it over to eli@railbusinessdaily.com

Warmest wishes,

Eli

Connected Places Catapult
Alternative technologies to platform edge doors (PEDs)
27 & 28 September (Online)

Connected Places Catapult is working with the Department for Transport (DfT) to explore innovative technical solutions to provide safety for passengers at the platform train interface in a driverless environment and in the absence of platform edge doors (PEDs). We are considering the business case of whether these solutions can be implemented to provide a more affordable alternative to Platform Edge Doors (PEDs) while maintaining current safety and performance levels across the network.

We intend to award up to a total of £1.2million to between 2 and 5 suppliers to deliver demonstrations of some or all of the functionality of their solutions from December 2022 to March 2023. The demonstrations will take place in a testing environment which is representative of London Underground.

Connected Places Catapult will be holding virtual drop-in sessions on Tuesday 27 September and Wednesday 28 September where we will answer any initial questions. You can find out more information, and register HERE.
