Holiness

"God does not make us holy in the sense that He makes our character holy. He makes us holy in the sense that He has made us innocent before Him. And then we have to turn that innocence into holy character through the moral choices we make." A quote by Oswald Chambers. This is exactly what a life surrendered to God looks like. Through obedience, allowing Him to shape our character.

Oftentimes, we can slip into the concept of "cheap grace", which is when we take for granted the grace of God and only perform the bare minimum so we can call ourselves a Christian. If you are not constantly allowing God to refine you and make you holy through acts of surrender, you are missing out on the fullness He has set for your life. It is not always easy making the right choices but I have found that the closer you get to God, the desire to be holy greatly increases out of your love for Him. So the question is, are you living a life holy before God or have you been living on cheap grace?

Psalm 24:3-4 says, Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully."
