September 2022 Newsletter

Welcome! Safe Streets is an interdepartmental team that works with community partners to establish and meet viable objectives and goals for reimagining and redesigning streets. The streets in Hartford must be safe for all road users regardless of transit mode, age, ability, race, or income. This newsletter is produced bi-monthly, and provides updates on Safe Streets efforts initiated by the City of Hartford, partner organizations, and the community.
This month's edition features:

A quick reminder that we're on Instagram @safestreetshartford and on Facebook @DDSHartford! We'll continue to build out our communications efforts, so please follow us and stay tuned for more.

DominGO! Hartford This Sunday
DominGO! Hartford is coming to Park Street on Sunday, September 25th from 9a to 3p! DominGO! is the City of Hartford’s inaugural Open Streets program, presented in partnership with Hartford HealthCare, where city streets are temporarily transformed into open spaces for healthy activities, like biking, running, skating, scooting, and dancing.

The route will have three activity hubs, where there will be programmed activities and entertainment, and in between each hub the streets are open for all non-motorized use! This is a great opportunity to bring your business outside and engage with the attendees. When we did this event on Farmington Avenue in June, we had 5,000 attendees. We anticipate even more on Park Street!

For more information on DominGO! Hartford, including details about the street closure, visit: www.domingohartford.com/events/park-st
