Hi church family.

This Sunday we have the privilege of having the South African artist Andre deVilliers minister to us through music and sharing his testimony. Use this opportunity to bring a friend along. If you have adult/high school children, make sure to bring them too. Andre has an amazing way of connecting with young and old. His testimony touches the heart (so you might want to bring a tissue as well.)

This week our church has been the host for Andre's visit to Perth. We are thankful to the families that have loaned him a car and provided accommodation. Through our network, we were able to have him minister in an impactful way to the men at Shalom House on Tuesday night (pictured below.) They were so moved by his ministry that they invited him back next week to minister to the women at Shalom House.
Wednesday lunchtime we invited Andre to share with our staff and some of our music team members about his journey, humble beginnings, the road to fame and how he became a Christ follower. He also shared about the unique ways God has been able to use him in ministries from prisons in Africa to churches, schools and all kinds of other groups around the world. We took inspiration from him and the way he walks in humility and total dependence before God.
Last night we had Andre visit Cambrai Village - where one of our families' (Bruce & Louise) mother is a resident who helped make the evening possible. The elderly there made a special evening of it, putting on soup and bread. They LOVED the stories and songs shared by Andre and could not thank him enough for visiting. Afterwards one of the men commented with a smile; "I've never heard anything like this in my whole life."
In the picture above you'll notice the screen says 'Thank you Westcor.' That was because a friend of Andre who owns that company heard he'll be ministering to elderly. He sent two boxes of reading glasses (40 total) as a gift to them. I had the honour of doing the handover to Lynn Taylor (pictured below.)
We thank God for the blessing of hosting Andre this week and look forward to his music and message to us this Sunday morning.

Some of the team members from our welcome group at Sunday's meeting. I love the age diversity represented here. Marlene did a great job leading the meeting and giving us pointers to be more effective in our welcome ministry. The team also provided good ideas and input as well. Thank you to everyone who serves in this area.
*If this is a ministry you would like to join, please get in touch with Marlene or any of the other team members.
Our young adults had some get-togethers as well; Sunday after church and then again on Monday night.
If as a young adult you/your child want to connect in this way, get in touch with Alex or any of the familiar faces you see in the photos. Our heart's prayer is for our young adults to continually build new and strengthen old friendships with their Christian peers in our church. Being part of a Christian friendship circle is a blessing that can last their whole life long.
If you watch our services with the live stream on Sundays, you might notice we sometimes have difficulty with the connection on our FaceBook platform.
The good news is we also stream live to YouTube which is a more stable platform with no interruptions.
This link connects you to our YouTube site. You can click on it and 'like/subscribe' so you receive notifications when we stream live on Sundays.  https://youtu.be/lzgv2IFHEgE.
Our streaming tech (Tienie) said in a recent post; 'We highly encourage everyone to start watching the Sunday services on Youtube when you are watching online. Youtube is a much more mature and stable platform than Facebook when it comes to live streams.'

You can also watch previous sermons on our YouTube  platform.
