Today is 'Make a Hat Day'!
Well, I have absolutely no idea what the basis for this is, but hey ...
we have an overbooked hat class on Sunday,
so it must be a thang!
That's just how we roll.
We got a big box of Feederbrook Farm yarns this past weekend, and we're pretty excited about it! All 21 colorways of Entropy DK, which is 100% Bluefaced Leicester, 260 yards/100 grams! These are absolutely gorgeous gradient skeins for stranded colorwork, mosaic projects, or simply as a stand-alone. Below is a pic of my WIP "Moonflowers Shawl" ... this is an addictive knit, and I'm having a really hard time for putting this one down. The yarns are a OOAK (one-of-a-kind) dark, dark teal Madelinetosh DK and Feederbrook Farm's Symbiosis (which means its already on reorder).

And speaking of Hat Day, how about this one? "Ginevra Beanie" is great in a gradient, and these skeins should provide enough yarn for two!
Let's talk Forbidden Fiber Co. for a bit ... we just love this indie dyer ( which is obvious when you're in the shop)! Today we received "Hocus Pocus 2", the new Halloween collection offered just prior to the release of the 'Hocus Pocus 2" on Disney+ on September 30 (so you have plenty of time to pick your project)! Again, Leann's colors are amazing ... from left to right: We're Back, Sisters, Book of Spells, Magic Shoppe, I Smell Children, & Life Potion. We have these in Fortitude Fingering (475 yards) AND Fortitude DK (231 yards) ~ 100% Superwash Merino, they are $30 per skein.
And ... we also have 'All Hallows Eve' mini-sets. These are hauntingly beautiful! They are FFC's Fortitude fingering base, 67 yards per mini, 696 yards total. These are $56 per set.

What to make with minis? Give a look at this 'Mineral Fade Hat' by Vanessa Ewing that was released Monday on Ravelry!

But wait, there's more! We received our Halloween Trunk Show from Forbidden Fiber Co. this afternoon (too late to get it all camera ready, but here's the skinny)! Our instruction to FFC was ... a smattering of all things Halloween. Here's what was in the box ... 103 skeins of fingering & DK weights from their original Hocus Pocus, A Discovery of Witches, The Worst Witch, and iZombie collections, as well as limited cross-stitch kits & fabrics of Abscene & Desire, Lucille Cross, and Haunted House (I may have 'acquired' one of these)!

Also, Leann included a door prize just for shoppers of this Trunk Show ... the set of 13 minis from FFC's 2021 Halloween Mystery Box, as well as a Potion project bag from this year's box! Every time you shop the show, you'll be entered in our drawing ~ so shop early & shop often!
Most of you are familiar with TinCanKnits ... if not, you can read their story here. They offer excellent patterns, as well as LYS support ~ I just love them. I've never met them in person, but they are just so giving and so kind (especially to LYSs) that I just want to give them a shout out!

They are releasing a new pattern collection TODAY, September 15 .. "Lazy Sunday"! It is lovely, it is all cable-ie ~ 6 garments & 6 accessories, sizes baby to big (without looking it up, I'm thinking 6XL). Any how, these are all beautiful patterns, and they're available on Ravelry today (any minute now)!

We are offering a class for their Timber fingerless mitts in October ... keep reading!
