I hope everyone is having a great fall!
In just a few short weeks, WI ASLA will be hosting a Field Session in and around the Green Bay area. If you have not had the chance to register, and would like to attend, please visit our website to get signed up. Each registration earns you up to 3 CEUs and includes dinner as part of our Annual Meeting. A detailed schedule of events is below.
Also, keep an eye out for the early bird registration for our Spring Conference. The save the date is below, and registration will be opening in the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing everyone again, this year back in Madison.
I also want to take a moment and highlight some of the hard work going on behind the scenes as it pertains to Chapter advocacy. On September 29th, Sarah McDonald, Jonathan Bronk, and myself partook in the National ASLA Advocacy Day. Over the course of the day, the three of us meet virtually with members from Senator Baldwin’s and Senator Johnson’s staff, as well as Representative Pocan’s and Fitzgerald’s offices. Our focus was to rally support surrounding legislation that creates funding avenues for communities of need. These funding avenues would be targeted at providing climate mitigating solutions, green infrastructure, and general open space development; something that every landscape architect could be involved in.
With that, I look forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks at the Field Session!
Until next time,
Alexander Thill, ASLA
Wisconsin Chapter President
