Volunteers needed for Dublin VegFest 24/25 September 2022
Dublin Cycling Campaign is proud to be a partner, with Dublin City Council, of this year’s Dublin Vegfest which takes place in Leinster Cricket Club, Rathmines, Dublin 6 on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September from 11:00 to 18:00. Dublin Cycling Campaign is providing a free valet bicycle parking service to Vegfest attendees.
This on-site event bike parking will make it as easy as possible for attendees to cycle to Vegfest and conveniently park their bikes for free. We need volunteers to help out. It is a great way to get involved in the Campaign so if you are available for a few hours over the course of the weekend please sign up here.

Summer Fun Cycle Video
Dublin Cycling Campaign was delighted to team up with the crew from Bloomin' Crumlin for our Summer Fun Cycle on Sunday 10 July 2022. We had a great mixture of ages and abilities on the cycle, and it was lovely to meet new and long-time Dublin Cycling Campaign members over the course of the afternoon. A big thanks to Siobhán McNamara from our Executive Committee for leading on the organising - and to DCC Member Mark O’Neill for producing the gorgeous little video of the cycle - viewable here.

Cyclist.ie News
Cyclist.ie / Dublin Cycling Campaign now has a presence on the “Benevity” platform, which is an easy way for companies to fulfil their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) requirements. The majority of large IT / tech companies operate a CSR program, so why not find out if your company operates one? See our article on this here. The more funds Cyclist.ie has, the more campaigns we can run, and the greater will be the positive impact on cycling conditions on the ground countrywide.
Over the last few months, Cyclist.ie’s Action Groups have bedded in, so we are ready to step up our campaigning on a number of fronts - particularly in regard to drafting submissions on both local and national level strategies and transport schemes. Do check out all of our groups and contact us (via the link above) if you can help out.

News from the European Cyclists' Federation (ECF)
The European Cyclists' Federation, of which Cyclist.ie is the member for Ireland, has been working hard for bicycle parking to be included in the updating of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). Bike parking will be, in some form or another, an important element in this Directive for all European non-residential buildings and all new/renovated residential buildings with access to a certain sized parking area. ECF will be recommending, urging, proposing, and advocating for the inclusion of charging points for e-bikes, areas for cargo bikes, and of course, introducing minimum bike-parking requirements. Full story here.
In other news, a cycling couple has broken three world records for largest GPS drawing, while aiming to raise awareness of cycling's effectiveness in reducing carbon emissions and to build political support for the necessary investments to make cycling accessible to everyone. Full story here.
