The word PLEXUS means an intricate network. Those with FASD, their caregivers, service providers and community members all make up this network of people who create space for individuals of all ages and their families. PLEXUS can help access FASD informed services and supports.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) affects 4% of Canadians. That is approximately 2.5x more common than Autism Spectrum Disorder, and in Waterloo Region it is estimated that there are approximately 6000 children and youth living with FASD. For these children and their families, it can be difficult to find the support services they need. Plexus, a new collaborative between four community organizations, has been created to simplify service navigation for families in Waterloo Region.

Under Plexus, Carizon Family and Community Services, KW Habilitation, Lutherwood and Sunbeam Community and Developmental Services have come together under one umbrella to provide a single point of contact for children, youth and families needing support for FASD. Plexus will make it extremely easy and take the guesswork out of understanding where to go for help.
