AI for Biodiversity
ESI has received a seed grant from the MIT Climate and Sustainability Consortium for the ECO-LENS project, a framework using AI to produce accurate maps of urban biodiversity.

With ECO-LENS, ESI plans to develop a system that can quickly and automatically interpret biodiversity data from satellite imaging and unmanned aerial vehicles. In partnership with city governments and local community groups—beginning in the Colombian cities of Quidbó and Leticia—this data will contribute to urban planning and local biodiversity conservation.
