Cooler Weather and Fall Harvest

Well, fall is definitely here. The smoke is lessening and the morning clouds/drizzle signal the season’s change. Stock up for those fall weekends of soccer, football and hiking to see the change colors of the trees!

Only TWO more weeks left after this week.

We do plan on offering two Saturday Harvest Markets, once our permits are approved. Stay tuned!

Farmers

  • Beauvine Natural - Beautifully local, grass fed, organic grain finished, naturally raised beef
  • Cedar Spring Farm of Enumclaw - Farmer Steve is bringing lettuce, Hakurei turnips, radishes, green beans, cauliflower, cucumbers (Asian and Beit Alpha type), summer squash bag, Costata Romanesco zucchini, peppers (Shishito, Jalapeno and Serrano), and garlic (Georgian Fire and Romanian)
  • Locust Hill Farm - Vegetables, herbs, eggs and flowers!
  • Makarios Acres, LLC - A small 5-acre family farm located in Buckley, WA featuring pork, beef and chicken
  • Rockridge Orchards and Cidery - This week: Fresh gravenstein, honeycrisp, early golden apples and bartlet, bosc and asian pears. Also sweet and hard cider, vinegar and fresh herbs.

Plenty of parking is available in the Library lot off Railroad Street and Myrtle Avenue. We ask that you please don’t park in the Tractor Supply lot unless you are shopping in the store as well.

  2. Swipe your card
  3. Receive up to $40 EPFM Market Money per market day (goes towards all SNAP eligible products, including meat, eggs, produce and more) PLUS a 1:1 match of Snap Market Match (good towards fruits, vegetables, and edible plant starts and seeds) per market day!

WIC and Senior FMNP

WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (WIC FMNP) is part of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for lower income Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). The WIC Program provides healthy foods, nutrition education, and referrals to health and other social services. WIC Checks are good for use on produce (fruit and vegetables only).

Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is part of the DSHS Aging and Long-Term Support Administration (ALTSA). The Senior FMNP improves nutrition for lower income adults over age 60 with nutritious meals a variety of group settings in the community, and home delivered meals for seniors who are unable to leave their homes. Senior checks are good on produce and honey only.

Not all vendors are WIC-Senior approved. Look for the signs or ask at the Market Information Tent.

Kids’ PoP Club

  1. Go to the PoP Club Table at the EPFM Information Tent.
  2. Sign up for the program.
  3. Get Kids’ PoP Club Tokens.
  4. Purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from our farmers.
  5. Take home nutritious and locally grown tasty food!
  6. Come back every week for more!
