Short-Term Volunteers Needed: UJA Genesis Community Marketplace

In October, UJA Genesis will be reopening the Community Marketplace at Promenade Mall to provide winter gear for Ukrainian newcomers.

Donations will be collected at the marketplace from October 17th – 21st, and open to Ukrainian newcomers to shop from October 24th – 28th.

Items must be brand new or gently used, including:

• hats

• warm socks

• mitts

• gloves

• snow boots

• winter jackets

• snow pants

Volunteer Information

Location: Promenade Mall, 1 Promenade Circle, Thornhill, Ontario. L4J 4P8

Each day will operate from 10 am – 3 pm. There will be two 3-hour shifts for each day.

• Week One: October 19th – 21st:
  Volunteers will accept donation drop-offs, unpack, sort, and fold donated items.

• Week Two: October 24th – 28th:
  Ukrainian newcomers come to shop. Volunteers will assist with shoppers, restock shelves, etc.

• Week Three: October 31st – November 4th:
  Volunteers will help clean up store, fold and pack and leftover product
