Paediatric Biobanking and Minor Engagement - an interactive workshop -
updated preliminary scientific programme now available
Join the paediatric and rare diseases biobanking community in Rome this 13-14 October for a highly interactive two-day workshop featuring inspiring expert practitioners and challenging case studies from across the EU.
Expect this innovative, empowerment based, workshop to:
- Broaden and deepen community engagement among stakeholders from the paediatric and rare diseases community.
- Share and harmonise practical solutions for research activities that involve the child as a participant, particularly in longitudinal and translational biobank-based research.
- Address ethical, legal and societal challenges to highlight the pathway forward on paediatric biobanking and ELSI challenges.
Make sure your voice is heard so that you help set priorities and future agendas on how we can comply with the EU’s Horizon Europe goal to implement Responsible Research and Innovation, and the commitment to open science with and for young researchers and citizens.
The workshop objectives are to:
- Identify and share good practice examples to inform, involve and engage the minor as a participant.
- Pinpoint common practical challenges and expectations across our extended participatory community and share ideas and solutions for overcoming or addressing them.
- Provide a renewed focus for National Nodes and inspire new opportunities and methods for citizen engagement in sample/data-based research.
- Prepare for the next EU calls focused on paediatric research and healthcare.
We strongly advise booking as soon as possible to secure your travel arrangements and prepare for this exciting agenda.
