LLI Members have been invited by Bard College to attend a special event on Wednesday, September 21 at 7:30 p.m., in the Sosnoff Theater at The Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College. It is free and open to the public.

At this event, the College will host an abridged screening of The U.S. and the Holocaust, https://www.pbs.org/kenburns/us-and-the-holocaust/, a new PBS documentary directed and produced by Ken Burns, Lynn Novick, and Sarah Botstein. The short 30-minute screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Sarah Botstein, codirector and producer of The U.S. and the Holocaust; Christian Ayne Crouch, Dean of Graduate Studies and Associate Professor of History; Thomas Keenan, Professor of Comparative Literature and Director of the Human Rights Program; Cecile E. Kuznitz, Associate Professor and Patricia Ross Weis ’52 Chair in Jewish History and Culture; and Daniel Mendelsohn, Charles Ranlett Flint Professor of Humanities and author of The Lost: A Search for Six of Six Million, who shares his family’s story in the film.

The event will be introduced by Bard College President Leon Botstein and followed by an audience Q&A session.

Prior to the event at Bard, the entire documentary will air on PBS for three consecutive nights: September 18, 19, and 20, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
