Engineering Biology Forums 2022

The EngBio IRC is delighted to announce this year’s Engineering Biology Forums. Held over three weeks in October and November 2022, these Forums will explore key tools for the future of engineering biology and biotechnology, bringing together some incredible international speakers alongside local Cambridge exhibitors and demonstrators.
 
We welcome all members of the Cambridge Bioscience and Technology community to join us for these exciting events covering advanced microscopy, AI & machine learning and synthetic biology & genetic engineering.

Events will be held at the Old Divinity School, St. John’s, 5-9pm. Registration is free and will include admission to the talks, followed by a drinks reception, nibbles and exhibits.

Monthly in-person, informal meetup at the Cambridge Makespace for anyone wanting to repair, design or build lab equipment. Bring your own project to work on (anything involving lab hardware is welcome), take the opportunity to work through Biomaker training with others or join one of the Beneficial Bio community projects.

Wellcome Connecting Science Course: Computational Systems Biology for Complex Human Disease: from static to dynamic representations of disease mechanisms
 
04–09 December 2022

This exciting course will focus on applied, functional analysis and interpretation of disease data using computational modelling tools. The week-long programme will cover both static (networks) and executable (models) representations of disease mechanisms with a focus on discrete computational modelling concerning complex human diseases such as Cancer (and pre-cancer), Rheumatoid Arthritis, COVID-19, Parkinson’s’ and others.
