From the Principal

Dear Parkview Families,

Thank you for your partnership and support during our first week of school. We have had a great first week back at school with all of our students and staff. Students are settling into their new classrooms and starting to build routines as a new classroom community.

Students in all grades begin the year with a unit about Community. Over the next six weeks, each classroom will be reading literature, writing, and having discussion around a wide variety of genre to support learning about community and our role in our classroom and school community. We believe everyone belongs here. We are starting the year with a school-wide text to support our learning about CARES and that is: Kindness Grows by Britta Tekentrump. We will be teaching a lot about kindness as we move through the year.

Thank you for your continued support for our school, staff, students and families. Parkview is a very special place and we all feel fortunate to be part of this school community. We look forward to a great year together!

Remember School Pictures are scheduled for Wednesday, September 28th. More information will be coming soon.

Sincerely,
Ms. Garcia, Principal

You Need to Know This Week

Opt into Optional iPad Protection Plan by Sept. 19th

After waiving fees these last two years, District 196 is offering an optional iPad Protection Plan for the 2022-23 school year to help protect against unexpected costs for accidental damage to or loss of a district-issued iPad. Families may opt into the protection plan for $20 per iPad for the entire school year. There is a reduced fee for students eligible for Educational Benefits.

All families are asked to accept or decline the optional iPad Protection Plan by Sept. 19th, at which time a non-response will be considered declining the offer. To make their choice, parents and guardians log into their MyPaymentsPlus account, do a search for “iPad” and select one of only two options presented: to accept the protection plan or to decline it. Both options include the Student User Agreement referenced above for review and acknowledgement. Click here for directions on using MyPaymentsPlus or creating an account.  While you must officially accept or decline the protection plan via MyPaymentsPlus, you can preview what the plan does and does not cover here
