Join President Susan R. Wente and Vice President for Campus Life Dr. Shea Kidd Brown for a Gold & Black Chat. These monthly roundtable events provide a space to build meaningful connections between Wake Forest students and administrators, share student experiences, and learn about campus updates. The September Gold & Black Chat will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 4 p.m. in the Autumn Room of Reynolda Hall. Space is limited to keep the interaction and conversations more intimate, so RSVP by Thursday, Sept. 15.
Free flu shot clinics available for students
Wake Forest is offering free student flu shot clinics in the Sutton Center on Sept. 21, 23, 27, 29, and Oct. 5 and 11. Sign up here. After you register, you will receive a confirmation email (check your junk/spam folder if you do not see your confirmation). If you attend one of these on-campus clinics, your flu vaccine will be automatically uploaded to your Student Health Portal if you complete the Consent box on the sign-up form.
Fall Career Fair, Sept. 14
The WFU Fall Career Fair is happening in the Sutton Center on Wednesday, Sept. 14, from noon to 4 p.m. Students of all class years, majors and programs are welcome. Nearly 100 businesses are participating — making this the largest in-person opportunity in a decade for students to talk with employers seeking to hire for jobs and internships.
Face to Face speaker series with former President George W. Bush, Sept. 14
Students are invited to a free student-only event — “A Conversation with Jon Meacham” — at 4:30 p.m. in Wait Chapel on Wednesday, Sept. 14. The conversation will be moderated by fellow Wake Forest students, Olivia Summiel and Rashad Raad.
Students can also claim a free ticket (subject to availability) for the evening Keynote Address event with former President George W. Bush and Jon Meacham at the Joel Coliseum. There are several ways to claim your ticket, using your Deacon OneCard.
Pick up your ticket before or after the Jon Meacham student event at Wait Chapel.
Visit the Wake Forest Ticket Office (located at Bridger Field House at Truist Field, 499 Deacon Boulevard Winston Salem NC 27105) on Sept. 14 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Take a shuttle to the Coliseum to claim a ticket at the Box Office after 5 p.m.
Shuttles will be available from Manchester Plaza to and from the LJVM Coliseum starting at 4:30 p.m. If you plan to drive and park, parking will cost $10.
The Joel Coliseum doors close at 6:30 p.m. due to heightened security.
Speak About It performance on Sept. 14
The Office of Wellbeing welcomes Speak About It, a national theater group specializing in consent, boundaries, and healthy relationships through humor and humanity, to Pugh Auditorium on Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 6-8 p.m. Details on The Link.
Puppies, pizza, and more: events coming up on campus at The Link
Homecoming will take place Sept. 16-18 and you will see a lot of alumni of all ages back on campus. Students are invited to attend Party So Dear on Sept. 16. at 4:30 on the Mag Quad; Kool & the Gang will be the featured entertainment. For Party So Dear, admission is free, but students must bring their driver’s license for the ID check; if you are 21+, you’ll receive a wristband. And plan to join us for the Festival on the Quad on Saturday!
