Fall is here!

Pumpkin spice, halloween decorations and cozy images aside, September brings an undeniable feeling that another new year has begun. Does this September give you a sense of possibility and a willingness to try new things? Here at Shifting Gears HQ, we are brimming with excitement around what this month will bring!

Shifting Gears is excited for the change of season, as it means getting back out into the community and offering new and exciting ways to get involved. See below for how to connect with us, this fall!

Shifting Gears Follow-Up Survey begins Monday!
From Monday September 12th to Sunday September 18th, track your trips and win prizes!

How does it work? Without modifying your current habits, track your trips for 1 week for a chance to win prizes! Our May Challenge is for making new habits; but for this survey we want you to go about your ‘business as usual’. Some habits might have stuck, some might not have and that’s okay!

Who can participate? If you tracked trips in May of 2022, we want to hear from you! Click here to tell us you’ll be tracking trips.

How can I get involved? Sign yourself up and spread the word with your co-workers, community, friends or family, who took part in the challenge in May of 2022
Count Week: Call for Volunteers!
Attention all citizen scientists! On September 20th, 21st and 22nd,
Shifting Gears is holding our annual count of pedestrians and cyclists across Peterborough. Volunteers conduct counts in two-hour AM or PM shifts, at locations all over the city. Get involved by clicking here!
Fleming & Trent Transportation Challenge!
September 26th to October 9th
Shifting Gears invites members of the Fleming & Trent communities (staff, students, admin) to participate in your very own transportation challenge! We recognize that our May Challenge might not be at a time when you're travelling to campus daily, so we have made a 'Challenge' just for you! Click here to register :)
