Join the Lakeway 4-H Club

In partnership with UT Extension, all Lakeway students are invited to participate in 4-H!

On Wednesday, September 14^th, at 8:15 AM in room D128, there will be a fun and informative get-together to learn about the many opportunities that 4-H offers:

4-H summer camp, leadership retreats, academic conferences
livestock judging, shooting sports, horse project, wildlife judging
grill master competitions, quilt camp, fashion design
college & career readiness programming, and so much more!

Football Needs Content Creators!

Football is looking for Content Creators!

Do you enjoy creating content? Do you have a passion for music, video, photography, social media or web design? The Lakeway high school football team is looking to build a team of assistants that would like to learn more about content creation, while building a portfolio that they can use after school!

We have a few different needs such as:

Filming for social media and other needs.
Editing content for social media.
Creating graphics for several purposes.
A practice DJ to select music and media for the video boards.
And more!

You could count this for community service hours, and we may be able to workout compensation for hard working individuals who stay committed!

Senior New York Trip

We are excited to share with our senior students the opportunity to Explore New York City! Lakeway Christian Academy is partnering with Joshua Expeditions to offer a capstone excursion for seniors to explore this beautiful city and grow together in fellowship.
If you’re ready to register and place your deposit, visit https://secureweb.joshuaexpeditions.org/travelerapp.aspx and use expedition number Y283. Registration and deposits are due by 9/15.
This year’s senior trip will be a chance to explore the Big Apple and serve the people who call it home. The trip will be Tuesday, March 14^th through Friday, March 17^th, 2023 (the week following Spring Break).

In New York City, students will visit:

Times Square,
Broadway,
Ellis Island,
Central Park,
Madison Square Garden Arena,
and many more memorable sites.

The cost is of this trip is $1700 for the standard student traveler. Fundraising opportunities will be provided. (This price is subject to change based on the number of travelers, so be sure to let Mrs. Mansour know you are interested right away.) Parents are invited to travel as well. Guardian pricing is dependent on rooming.

Military Academy Day

On Saturday, September 17, 2022, Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger will be hosting a Military Service Academy Day for students in the First District of Tennessee. Students and parents are encouraged to attend this great opportunity.

Academy Day is an opportunity for students interested in pursuing a collegiate military education to learn about the programs offered at our nation's military academies and college ROTC programs. As part of this presentation, there will be representatives from these institutions speak about the educational opportunities and the military careers associated with their institutions.

Please RSVP to TN01.academy@mail.house.gov for updates. This information day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17^th at 9:30 a.m. at the Kingsport Center for Higher Education, 300 W. Market Street, Kingsport. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the program will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. Freshman thru Seniors are invited along with their parents and families for this valuable information session.

Dress Code Reminders

As a reminder, our student dress code has been updated this year regarding sweatshirts and other outerwear. We will be addressing this area specifically next week. In order for a student to be considered in compliance with dress code, the following guidelines must be kept:

No hoodies of any kind are allowed, Monday through Thursday
Only Lands End outerwear is allowed. These items will all have either the embroidered wordmark logo or the embroidered “L” logo.
A Lands End polo or oxford shirt must be work under all outerwear, without exception.

Hello, my name is Jarrad Stump and I’m the chairman of the LFA Athletic Booster committee.

I will be working with school staff, the Athletic Director, and other departments of the LFA to determine how best this committee can serve LCA athletics in the future. In my day job I’m the environmental, Safety, Health, and Quality (ESH&Q) Coordinator for the US Department of Energy’s (US DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). My wife Amanda and I have been married for 18 years and she is currently the manager of the Lakeway School Store (The Den). My son Jesse (sophomore) attends LCA and is active on the football and basketball teams.

It will be my pleasure to continue working with LCA athletic staff and coaches in support of our student athletes and parents!
