We can't wait to share all the exciting things we have planned for the
2022-2023 school year with you! You don't have to be a PTA member to come to the meetings. We welcome everyone to join us to learn more about what is happening at OLE!
**Please note that no childcare will be available at the September meeting.**

PTA Committee Chairs Needed for the 2022/2023 School Year
We are in need of several committee chairs this school year. We have the funds raised to cover all of these events this school year, but we can't do that without committee chairs. If these positions are not filled, these experiences and opportunities will not happen for students this school year.
Please consider donating your time and talents!
All committee chairs for the 2022-2023 school year will be entered into a drawing for amazon gifts cards!
Teacher Appreciation
The committee chair is responsible for coordinating teacher appreciation once a month and each day of Teacher Appreciation Week in May. This position could be split between two people.
Grade Level Playdates
New this year, we are looking for a committee chair to be in charge of grade level playdates. The chair would ideally find a chair for each grade level and help to coordinate one playdate/event each school year for each grade level. Bring your ideas and enthusiasm to help us launch this new concept!
Ashland Musical
The Ashland Musical is an exciting opportunity for OLE students, and it can't happen without a committee chair! This position would be great to split between co-chairs. The musical planning begins in September, with registration opening in November. The committee chair is responsible for communication regarding the musical and the registration process. Rehearsals begin in December and run through March. The committee chair needs to be present at all rehearsals, or create a sign up for volunteers to be present at the rehearsals. They will also promote ticket sales for the musical. Performances take place in April. The chair is responsible for finding volunteers to help at the performances. The chair also plans the cast party after the musical is complete. This is a big commitment, but extremely fun and rewarding!
OLE Carnival
The OLE Carnival is in need of a co-chair for the largest OLE event of the year! The Carnival co-chair will assist in the planning and running of the OLE Carnival, which is tentatively scheduled to take place outdoors on May 19th. Planning for the carnival begins in January.
BINGO
The Bingo chair is in charge of OLE BINGO, which is scheduled for February 3rd, 2023. The planning begins in December for the event. The committee chair is responsible for creating a flyer for the event, coordinating volunteers and securing items needed for the event.
Read A Thon
The Read A Thon committee chair is responsible for all things Read A Thon! The event typically takes place in February during I love to read month. The chair comes up with the theme for the Read A Thon, coordinates activities and events with the teacher liaison, decides on and secures prizes for the Read A Thon, tracks the reading minutes and provides updates during the event. The commitment for this position begins in November or December and runs through the end of the event in February. This position could be shared between two people.

The purpose of our PTA is to enrich the experiences of all students and the Otter Lake Community by sharing our time, talents, and treasure. You help make all this possible! Monthly PTA meetings will take place in the OLE Learning Commons (formerly know as the Media Center). Child care will be provided at the meetings, with the exception of the September meeting.
