Mourning our Queen

Following the sad news yesterday there are a few local arrangements that you may wish to be aware of.

The Harvest Festival and Lunch on Sunday will go ahead but the service and the lunchtime event will be adapted to be more appropriate for the occasion. The Church service at 10.30 will be an opportunity for everyone to come together to mark there Majesty's passing. All are welcome to the service. A few tickets remain for the lunch.

The Peace Garden has been designated as a place for people to leave floral tributes if they wish.

Condolence Books have been provided by Stamford Town Council. These are at two locations in Stamford at the Town Hall in the Mayor's Parlour and All Saint's Church. The books will be available from 9am until 6pm each day until midday after Her Majesty's State Funeral. North Northants Council have a book of condolence available at their council offices. The nearest is in the Main Reception, The Cube, Corby, NN17 1QG

The Buckingham Palace online Book of Condolence can be found at www.royal.uk

There will be a Benefice Service  at King's Cliffe on the day before the funeral. More details to follow when arrangements are confirmed.

Flags in the village are at half mast. They may be returned to full mast as the proclamation is read, and will then return to half mast until the day after the funeral.

PARISH COUNCIL NOTICE

It is with great sadness that the Parish Council learned of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen on Thursday 8th September 2022 and pass on their condolences and respects to the Royal Family and to the village and nation at this time.

The protocol during the official mourning period is that no council meetings are held during this time and therefore the meetings that were due to be held on Monday 12th September are postponed.  The next appropriate date is Monday 26th September 2022, and this will be confirmed nearer the time and due notice given as normal.

Thank you for your understanding.
