Season of Creation

Wednesday, September 21
6:00pm-7:00pm
Room 4A, Catholic Pastoral Centre,
1155 Yonge St. Toronto, ON

The calamities around the world are due to environmental disasters and all faith communities are concerned and actively advocating to save our common home. Keeping in mind the importance of creation, the Christians around the world are actively preparing to celebrate the Season of Creation, from September 1, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, to October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron Saint of Ecology. The proposed theme for this year is “Listening to the Voice of Creation” which is symbolised by the “Burning Bush”. It is chosen by an ecumenical steering committee and inspiration is taken from Psalm 19:1-4. The Office for Interreligious Dialogue at the Archdiocese of Toronto invites members of different faith communities to celebrate the Season of Creation with us in-person through prayer and action.

Podcast: The Forgotten Exodus

Details: https://bit.ly/ForgottenExodus

Most people know about the murder of six million European Jews in the Shoah. Some know about the antisemitic pogroms of Imperial Russia decades earlier. But not many people are familiar with the epic survival story of the more than 800,000 Jews who left or were driven from their homes in Arab nations and Iran.

The Forgotten Exodus is a new limited podcast series presented by American Jewish Committee that explores the rich heritage of these Jews, some of whom fled antisemitism and found refuge in the State of Israel. Each Monday in August and part of September, a new episode of this series that focuses on Mizrahi and Sephardic Jews will be released.
