Kay Ingamells & David Epston (Auckland, New Zealand) Sunday, September 18, 2022, 4:00-5:30 pm New York time |
David Epston has invented many imaginative, and startlingly successful, ways of disappearing problems for children and young people, which he has documented in stories from his practice in many publications. While the August 2022 Collab focused on reviving David’s longstanding work with the problem of stealing, this complementary Collab will introduce an approach for those young people who have been stood down or have been threatened with expulsion from their high school. This time, Kay will interview David about his approach. Everyone can register for free. If possible, please become a member - or renew your old membership - if you haven't already. You will be supporting the ongoing maintenance and development of training initiatives. Members can also pay $40 extra to earn 18 CE credits for attending or watching the entire series. |

Exploring Our Relationship with Narrative Questions |
|
|
|
Consultation Group with Amy Druker This 8 week bi-weekly series is for people who are interested in exploring their relationship with narrative questions. It is not a “how to” ask “better” narrative questions, but an invitation to explore the types of questions we feel drawn to asking, and why? An invitation to explore our hopes in asking questions, and the ethics we are striving to uphold in asking the questions we ask.
Beginning October 2nd, we will meet bi-weekly via Zoom (except monthly in December) on Sundays from 11am-12:30pm NY time (October 2nd, 16th, 30th; November 13th, 27th; December 11th, January 8th and 22nd)
Registration ends Friday September 30, 2022 |

New Consultation Group For Two Time Zones
Starting in October, two groups will meet fortnightly on Wednesdays at 1pm and 6pm EST for 6 sessions to explore migration of identity ideas in our different practice contexts. There are still a few places left if you are interested, hope to see you there! Poh Lin Lee
This consultation group is for people who are familiar with narrative therapy practice and migration of identity in an experiential way and have a particular interest in unpacking ideas and practices that can accompany people/families/communities in times of movement (chosen and imposed), transition and liminality. While this can attend to large moments, it is also inclusive of small moments in daily life and moment-by-moment exchanges in conversations and relationships. Together we will explore our experiences accompanying people in these movements through sharing stories of practice and engaging in experiential exercises.
6 sessions fortnightly on Wednesdays for 1.5 hours: October 5, 19; November 2, 16, 30; December 14. Please indicate your availability for 1pm and/or 6pm EST. Depending on the number of registrations, one or two groups will be formed. Registration ends Friday September 30, 2022!

Consultation Group with Peggy Sax, Charley Lang,
Larry Zucker and
With Invited Guests Gerald Monk, Marcy Rivas, Sharon Russell & Arturo Sanchez
Are you wanting to step forward in your teaching, supervising and/or research contributions to Narrative Therapy? Do you have dreams of how Narrative Therapy could continue to evolve and inspire? We are in search of experienced next-generation narrative practitioners eager to contribute to the preservation and evolution of narrative therapy, while infusing the foundational concepts and practices with your own particular voice, spirit, and cultural legacy.
With the intention of witnessing and supporting the developing work of Narrative Therapy’s emerging leaders, Peggy Sax, Charley Lang, Larry Zucker, with the help of invited guests Gerald Monk, Marcy Rivas, Sharon Russell & Arturo Sanchez, will guide this group. We will draw from a narrative pedagogy built on the ethics of kindness, curiosity, and accountability that have inspired us throughout the years.
Our hope is that participation in the group might become a rite of passage marking a fuller, more rewarding way of working, infused with a spirit of discovery, strengthening one’s own voice, and creative expression. All revenues will be donated to support the future of Reauthoring Teaching.
This online 6-week group, limited to 8 participants, meets monthly for six sessions on the second Sunday of the month from December 11, 2022 – May 14, 2022, 1:30 – 3pm NY time (10:30-noon Los Angeles time).
Please contact us as soon as possible (deadline now extended to September 30, 2022) to briefly respond briefly to the questions on the group's webpage and to let us know if you request a fee discount.

Rekindling Your Narrative Spark: Combating Isolation in Your Practice |
|
|
|
Consultation Group with Rocio Ocampo-Giancola & Akansha Vaswani-ByeAre you feeling a sense of isolation and disenchantment in your work? Do you feel you are being recruited into stories of dominant ideas of what a “good therapist” is or stories that are pathologizing of the people who consult you? We invite you to resist these stories and ideas in this community consultation group and think together about what you would prefer your practice to embody. Rocio and Akansha will create space for conversations about preferred ethics, consultation with your insider knowledges and wisdom, and articulation of consonant practices and ways of being. They will draw on their lived experiences of working in sites of “modern power” and support you in inhabiting your narrative multilingual voice. This group is for narratively informed practitioners, familiar with narrative ways of working. Maximum 10 people. Group meets for 8 bi-weekly for 1.5 hour sessions on Thursdays: January 1, 11; February 2; March 3, 22; April 12, 26.

Two New Online Series in Development |
|
|
|
Behind the scenes, we are actively developing two new online series for practitioners highlighting specific narrative interviewing skills.
Narrative Therapy, Trauma & the Affective Turn builds on our deep respect for the evolution of Narrative Therap while creating spaces for an interplay with other treasured approaches to working with people experiencing serious difficulties in their lives and relationships. Contributors include Maggie Carey, SuEllen Hamkins, Laure Maurin, Navid Zamani & Gerald Monk, David Pare, Ian Percy, and Lynne Rosen.
The upcoming Where the Buses Don't Run Yet online series will articulate and demonstrate David Epston's approach to narrative inquiry, which he has been developing with colleagues over the past 15 years. Together with Kay Ingamells, the series explores Contemporary Narrative Therapy through text, videos, transcripts and interviews.
Each of these online series has two courses in active development. Check out the website to learn more! |
