HTH community:

As our certificated staff continues to fight for a fair contract, here are two important ways to help amplify our message and urge administration to act. We have seen in the past that progress at the bargaining table only happens when there is collective pressure!

Action 1: Log in to the board meeting

After denying a fair grievance process to teachers at the last bargaining session, High Tech High rescheduled its next regular board meeting during the school day. This is a clear example of the lack of transparency and accountability that we are fighting against.

We are calling on all staff and supportive community members to log in to Zoom for this board meeting! The board’s Zoom has a capacity of 330 participants. We want to fill every last one of those slots with a “We Are Ready” profile picture to show High Tech High that we are present and united in our demands for FAIRNESS, TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTABILITY. Join us to cover the board meeting in BLUE on Monday!

Action 2: Amplify our message to the Board

Since this board meeting is scheduled during the school day when so many of us are teaching, we had to get a little creative when it comes to sharing our message with the board!

Site reps collaborated on this video message with their staff. It is posted on YouTube and all our social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Please share widely in your network to help amplify our message and advocate for fairness, transparency, and accountability.
