The International Arbitration Commission, Healthcare and Life Sciences Commission and Public Procurement Interest Group invite you to the vibrant city of Berlin for a AIJA double seminar:

Annual Arbitration conference: Arbitration in Times of Change – New Lands and Frontiers in Arbitration?

The International Arbitration Commission will focus on the opportunities and challenges that characterise our time and which impact the landscape of arbitration.

Public Procurement Law and Healthcare and Life Sciences seminar: Healthcare Sector in Transition – Is Public Procurement an Ally or an Enemy?

As a big part of the healthcare markets used to be public, public procurement regulations apply on top of any sectorial changes. Is it an improvement in competition and the best way to spend public money, or just a burden for both the public buyer and private suppliers?

A vivid discussion, new ideas and presentations from the client’s perspective are guaranteed.

On Saturday, the three commissions will meet to make the picture even more complete and to discuss the successful dispute resolution strategies on the healthcare market.

Welcome to Hamburg! The vibrant city holds large representations of multinational producers of consumer goods and services. It is therefore the perfect spot to host a seminar that touches upon current IP and tech related aspects following consumer goods and services along their path from global production to local consumption.

The academic programme will be dedicated to questions around building and managing consumer trust when producing and selling goods and services in a globalised world. In sessions focused on advertising trends, labelling requirements, and new developments in the constant fight against counterfeiting, we will discuss how issues like climate awareness, social movements or ethical production standards influence and affect the way goods or services are presented to local consumers. Also, we will shed some light on recently introduced compliance requirements concerning the global organisation of supply chains, paying particular respect to the business perspective as well as the needs and concerns of In-house counsel. Consumer goods and services regularly aim at reaching large audiences. Finally, our seminar comes full circle (from local to global to meta) and closes with an outlook on one of the newest frontiers: the Metaverse!

The seminar will be hosted by the IP/IT & TMT Commission in cooperation with the In-house Counsel Commission.
