6th AAM Infrastructure Workshop Next Week!
Register now for this premier event!

VFS is hosting its 6th Workshop on Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Infrastructure on Sept. 20-22 in Dayton, Ohio. This two-day meeting is the sixth in a series of solution-focused workshops. The program includes an exclusive tour and technology display at Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport.

These workshops provide an open forum to stakeholders and interested parties from industry and applicable government and regulatory bodies to discuss operations and safety requirements and expectations as they relate to AAM technology and infrastructure. This includes discussions regarding key operational and safety questions pertaining to AAM infrastructure to better understand potential eVTOL aircraft limitations and aerodynamic deficiencies that must be considered in future infrastructure development.

The workshop will identify collaborative research and development opportunities necessary for creating safe infrastructure design standards based on aircraft performance criteria. This will build upon existing safety data to identify pre-competitive areas where proactive industry collaboration would be valuable in accelerating adoption, and identify collaborative opportunities between industry and government agencies that will benefit the UAM industry, as well as drafting consensus-based strategies to advance infrastructure operations and safety at key federal, state and local levels.

Let us know!
Since May 2020, VFS has launched a number of initiatives to advance the hydrogen-electric / hydrogen fuel cell aviation industry to support new eVTOL and eCTOL aircraft applications.

We founded the H2eVTOL Council, which has been holding monthly educational webinars since January 2021 to understand the full range of the hydrogen aviation ecosystem. In January 2022, we created the H2-Aero Team to developing a white paper for a possible hydrogen hub that would serve a combination of eVTOL, eCTOL and eSTOL H2-Aero applications.

The industry leading work by VFS resulted in the 1st H2-Aero Symposium & Workshop in North America in March 2022 (see below) which brought 135 leading experts together at a hybrid in-person and virtual event.

Sign up to join one or both of these two H2 working groups to help decarbonize aviation! Go to www.vtol.org/hydrogen to learn more.

VFS Annual Forum a Success!

The Vertical Flight Society's 78th Annual Forum & Technology Display was a great success! More than 1,250 people experienced the "Future of Vertical Flight" at Forum 78, held May 10-12, 2022, in Ft. Worth, Texas. Some 220 technical papers were presented, plus more than 50 invited presentations and panel discussions by experts and decision makers in industry, academia, government agencies and research institutions.

Event attendees can access the technical papers by logging on to www.vtol.org/my-VFS or by visiting the Forum 78 proceedings page. Non-attendees can purchase the proceedings or individual papers. You can also check out more than 400 photos from the event — videos now posted!

Calling all researchers! Forum 79 will be held May 16–18, 2023, in West Palm Beach, Florida. The VFS Annual Forum is the world's leading international technical event on vertical flight technology. The conference will span three days and include 200+ technical papers on every discipline from Acoustics to Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, as well as invited presentations and discussions by leaders in the military, government agencies and industry. Abstracts are due by Monday, October 10, 2022. Learn more at www.vtol.org/authors
