Applications for NCSS 2023 (Wednesday 4th to Friday 14th January 2023)

Applications for students close on 30th September 2022

If you have any questions, please contact summerschool@grokacademy.org

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

NCSS applications will be accepted from students who will complete Year 11 in 2022, and from exceptionally gifted Year 10 students.  Selection of students will be based on academic performance, particularly in the subjects of mathematics and science, and demonstrated interest in computing. Personal qualities, such as community service, and social and teamwork skills will also be taken into consideration.

No prior knowledge of computing is assumed. Students who are not taking computing units of study at school are eligible to apply. Rest assured that students who enter the program as proficient programmers will also find plenty of material to extend their skills.

Early bird applications closing 30 September

Early bird applications close at midnight on Friday 30 September, after which UAC’s processing charge increases.
If students aren’t sure about what they want to study, they can submit an application to any course and change their preferences as many times as they like, for free. Year 12 applicants can also 'commit to pay' using BPAY. Payment must be made, however, in order to have their application assessed and receive an offer.

UAC PINs

All 2022 NSW HSC and ACT Year 12 applicants have had their UAC PIN emailed to them. To start their UAC application students will need their Year 12 student number (issued through NESA or BSSS) and their UAC PIN. Once they have applied, they can then use their UAC application number and UAC PIN to log in and manage their application.
