We are pleased to invite you to the 6th Annual Meeting of Amsterdam Public Health! This year’s Annual Meeting is themed ‘Digitalization’. It will be an interesting day on an emerging field of research with a lot of possibilities to network with your fellow APH researchers. 
Be part of this amazing day including a dance show, poster award prizes (see below), a VR experience room and a live band!

Health Behaviors & Chronic Diseases 
SUPREME NUDGE is a 5-year research project financed by the Dutch Heart Foundation and ZonMw. The project's final symposium will take place on November 2, 2022. For the first time, all results of the Supreme Nudge project will be shared and discussed with interested parties from science, practice and government. Read more
 
Mental Health
Childhood trauma produces severe and chronic symptoms of depression and anxiety. Researchers from both Amsterdam Public Health and Amsterdam Neuroscience examined how childhood trauma, like emotional neglect or emotional/ physical/ sexual abuse, is associated with depression and anxiety. Read more
Societal Participation & Health
The hidden causes of health problems among low-paid care workers. According to low-paid caregivers in elderly care, poverty, racism, discrimination, gender inequality and debt are the most important, often concealed causes of their health problems. Read more

Migration and Health - The Joep Lange Chair and Fellows Symposium - November 3, 2022. This symposium will feature speakers from distinctly varied backgrounds, disciplines, and approaches, and as a collective, they will provide an extensive overview of the challenges surrounding migration and health in 2022.  Read more

Quality of Care
How do you best support relatives of intensive care unit (ICU) patients during a crisis? The past two years APH researchers have evaluated the support in the ICU during the first COVID-19 wave. They have examined what can be learned from this for future crisis situations as well as for ‘normal’ situations. Read more
Personalized Medicine
PROMs (Patient Reported Outcome Measures), patient questionnaires, provide a great basis for the conversation between healthcare provider and patient. APH researcher Lotte Haverman notices an increase in the attention paid to questionnaires. Read more
Methodology
APH Methodology: call for travel grants (deadline 10 October 2022) The APH Methodology program has travel grants available for PhD students and/or post-docs affiliated with the program. At least three travel grants will be granted. The maximum amount of money that applicants can apply for is €5,000.

Digital Health
The APH Annual Meeting (Tuesday November 1, 2022) is themed on 'Digitalization' and the plenary morning session will be hosted by our program leaders of Digital Health Marlies Schijven and Ronald Cornet.

Call for abstracts poster presentations APH Annual Meeting November 1, 2022
We are glad to announce that the call for abstracts for the poster presentations at the APH Annual Meeting 2022 is now open. This year’s Annual Meeting will be held on November 1st in Theater de Meervaart Amsterdam.

PhD candidates, junior researchers and postdocs are invited to submit an abstract before September 30th via this form. If you wish to join, please fill in this form and send it to aph@amsterdamumc.nl.
APH ONBOARDING MEETINGS

The Amsterdam Public Health research institute organizes onboarding meetings for new APH researchers every three months. The main goal of the onboarding meeting is getting to know the research institute and fellow APH researchers better. 

We will inform you about APH and its assets and explain how you can contribute and benefit from your affiliation to APH. It is a diverse afternoon and a great opportunity to meet fellow APH researchers.
