The Teachings of the Church
Discussion group on Wednesday evenings

New topic starting this Wednesday

Fragmentation

We lead fragmented lives within a fragmented society.  Our fallen human minds are prone to being distracted and scattered across a wide range of disconnected thoughts, sensations and emotions. Our thoughts seem to always be elsewhere than our bodies. This makes prayer, contemplation and hearing God's voice nearly impossible and therefore we find it difficult to attain inner peace and stillness. Fragmentation also occurs in the way we live out our Orthodox Christian identity. We are often only "Orthodox" around our Orthodox friends and family but act quite differently around non-Orthodox or non-Christians at work or in social circles.  Why?

If this topic of fragmentation is intriguing and interesting to you, we welcome you to join us for our weekly, in-person discussion group on Wednesday evenings where we learn, discuss and reflect on the Church's profound and life-changing answers to everyday challenges that affect our spiritual, emotional and mental health. The goal of our discussions is to understand a topic more deeply and discover practical ways the teachings of the Church can provide solutions to the struggles of our daily lives so we can grow in our relationship with Christ and others.

Schedule
5:00pm - Akathist Prayer Service (in the church)
6:00pm - Teaching of the Church Discussion (in the hall)

Wishing you a Blessed Feast of the Elevation of the Holy Cross!

With love in Christ,

Fr. Ninos
