First of all: Welcome to all newcomers !
Hope you will feel at home at our international Catholic Community soon!
Please join our weekly coffee/tea after Sunday Mass? Everybody is invited!
It will definitely help you to know everyone and easily blend in with our community ;o)
Also welcome back to all who have been on holiday and/or have been on a family visit.
Please have a chat with newcomers to show them our community?
I hope you all enjoyed Summer.
Nature shows that Wageningen has been quite hot, sunny and dry.
The water level in the floodplains has dropped dramatically and thus is probably inversely proportional to the incomes of the ice cream sellers! Wondering what autumn and winter will bring us.
But first let's take a look at at the month September:
In this newsletter you will find a link to the Holy Mass schedule September.
Because of abscense there will be NO Holy Mass and NO Matins and Lauds on Friday September 23. All other Masses and activities will be as usual. Furthermore, briefly:
NEW
From now on there will also be Matins and Lauds (07.30 AM) and a Dutch Holy Mass (09.00 AM) in Wageningen on Mondays, celebrated by Fr Erik.
Special
There are two special celebrations this month, The feast of the nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (on Sep 8) which will be celebrated in Renkum as well as in Wageningen, and The exaltation of the Holy Cross (on Sep 14).
Also new
A new committee, Youth Church Community, invites young people for their first activity, a movie evening (on Sep 24).

Serious request for after Mass Many of you all enjoy our almost weekly "eighth sacrament", the Coffee/Tea after Mass. Of course this can only be arranged when there actually ís coffee and tea, and when we clean up things afterwards. It would be nice if everyone took a helping hand in this. On the 'bar' you can always find the coffee/tea list, so please subscribe once and a while?
Thank you!
Thank you also for your presence and help to keep ICC such a beautiful, warm community!
Thank you for your continous prayers for the situation in Ukraine, and also for all other wars.
And thank you also for continuing to take each other into account and to adhere to the general hygiene advices that prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Thank you for doing your best to help the newcomers to feel at home at our community !
More detailed information of everything mentioned can be found below.
And when you are bored; there is a little quiz (for advanced !) at the end of this newsletter.

Exaltation of the Holy Cross (Wednesday, September 14)
"“The Gospel the liturgy offers us on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross suggests that God wants to enter into a relationship of love with everyone. This is offered in His Son, Jesus, lifted up on the Cross.
Lifting up our gaze to God expresses a very important truth: we are invited to enter back into relationship with Him. We need to stop turning in on ourselves, uselessly nurturing a sense of guilt and forgetting that “in whatever our hearts condemn, God is greater than our hearts” (1 Jn 3:20). Let us lift up our eyes toward the stars (remember Abraham and the promise of many descendants), knowing how to cast every worry onto God" (Source: Vatican news) For more information, click the picture.

Preparing / serving / cleaning
We are allowed to drink coffee/tea again after mass !
But before we can drink coffee/tea, it has to be prepared and served.
And afterwards the dishes have to be done, and things have to be cleaned.
It would be nice if everyone took a helping hand in this.
On the 'bar' you can always find the coffee/tea list, so please subscribe once and a while?
Thank you !
Baking
Before corona, it was tradition that some ICC members (if they felt like it) brought (home made) cookies or cakes with them for coffee/tea.
If you feel like it, don't hesitate to continue this tradition ;o)
