Harvest Time = Harvest Mites
|

Harvest Mites (aka Chiggers) are said to have the itchiest bite of any critter out there. Thankfully, the little orange bloodsucking blighters are only a problem for a couple of weeks a year - the harvest time - when the females latch onto a host to suck blood so they can lay fertile eggs.

They then leave the host, return to the ground and are gone for another 11 months.
You are looking for ORANGE or BRIGHT RED tiny dots, about the size of a pin head, normally in that pocket of skin right up high in between your dog's toes.

|
I will, of course, be looking for them when your dog comes in. The easiest way being to use a hair dryer (or blaster, preferably, if you've got one) and have a very close look in between the toes and the pads of your dog. Please share this info with your friends also. It could save them a costly visit to the vet.

Naturally, I'm "on it" for your dog. Every dog coming in over the next 4 weeks will be getting the Wildwash anti flea / tick shampoo and then I'm layering the effect with their anti bug repellent in the conditioning rinse.
To me, it smells utterly divine, but it's a highly effective bug repellant and it works extremely effectively.

You can, of course, keep this regime up at home. I am selling the shampoo and the daily bug spray for £14.95 for 300mls.
When you need a refill, just bring the original bottle back and I'll refill it for £10.00.
We like that - it keeps plastic out of landfill. 😉
