A New Face at The Workshop
Please help us welcome our newest member of The Olean Theatre Workshop family:
Alex Scalise
Alex, who is also the middle-high school choral teacher at Allegany-Limestone, will be teaching our Pre-K-1, 2-4, and middle school courses and is thrilled to be joining the team. Having performed in several high school productions, including Jan in Grease (for which she won the Blossom Cohen Award), she has also performed in various operatic productions and choral ensembles at SUNY Fredonia. Alex holds a bachelors and master’s degree in Music Education from Fredonia with a concentration in voice and looks forward to helping her students find and hone their voice while building confidence.
When she is not singing, she enjoys making her signature chocolate chip cookies and playing the ukulele. She is excited to work with our students to show them the importance of theatre as more than just entertainment. She wants to build social skills, problem solving, and emotional intelligence with our students all while encouraging their abilities in singing, dance and musicality
When asked for her favorite musical Alex says “The Phantom of the Opera because
it’s my dad’s favorite musical. He always listened to the original London Cast's recording with me, and it holds a special place in my "heart.”
