Happy Holidays & Concert News!

Dearest Ones,

Happy holiday weekend! We love to celebrate with you through the sacred yogic practices.

Though yoga absolutely works to heal and enhance the physical body, as teachers of the transformational arts, we seek to guide the attention beyond the physical, to the energetic and spiritual dimensions of being.

Kundalini yoga begins with a set of rhythmic physical yoga movements, paired with dynamic breathing that invigorates, increases circulation and flexibility and promotes a feeling of peaceful expansion. Then the consciousness is directed inward to the more subtle energy centers and levels of consciousness through deep relaxation, and meditation. In fact, our whole time together is a moving meditation, then add to that sound healing, and we are transported into the totality of our being in a very powerful way.

So let’s bring in the bliss together as we embrace and heal the physical dimension of our being and also look beyond the body, the gender, beyond the physical sorrows and problems, beyond the whole realm of the physical. In this way, we know for sure that we are so, so much more, that we are spiritual beings here to experience the realm of the senses, here to give and receive love and the kind of compassionate kindness that transcends and encompasses all our dimensions.

We have an awesome full moon event coming up on September 9. A community kirtan with a double Grammy nominee, the talented and fun Daniel McBride (aka 13 Hands). We’d love to chant and celebrate spirit with you! More details below!

Happy Labor Day weekend to all! We look forward to celebrating together today (Sunday) at 11:30am ET in-studio (simulcast online) with Savitri and tomorrow (Monday) online at 11:00am ET, also with Savitri as our regular teachers enjoy treasured time with family and friends in other parts of our country. And please come for the concert next Friday; our time together as a community to celebrate the full moon is beyond exciting for all of us, it is what we at MKY look forward to all month
