This webinar will present a preliminary overview of the information collected from a recent survey of family forest owners in western Oregon and Washington. Presenters are interested in hearing from attendees about what data interest them most as the analysis phase begins.

About the project:
Family forest owners in the Pacific Northwest rely on forests for home sites, timber and ranching income, long-term investments, wildlife habitat, scenery, and recreational opportunities. Under future climate change, forests are expected to experience more frequent and severe wildfires, droughts, and insect and disease outbreaks, resulting in increased mortality and reduced flows of ecosystem goods and services. The fall 2020 wildfires in western Oregon highlighted these changing conditions. This project aims to understand how Westside PNW family forest owners are managing their forests and their wildfire concerns. This knowledge will help anticipate forest owner needs, predict the future of forests in the region, and design policies and programs to foster adaptation to climate change.
