Harvest is here! At the end of August, our Corn Team began their harvest season. Now, with serval fields done, our Corn Team back at the facility has already started to process our crop. This means that our Production Techs have shifted a great deal of focus to monitoring our dryers and sheller. On the other side of our operations, our Soybean Team, both in farming and at the facility, is in preparation for their harvest to start later this month. They are preparing their processing facility and getting all of their harvest equipment ready to roll.
While our Corn and Soybean Teams are in a harvest mindset, our Warehouse Team is working hard to close out the summer with box washing and retagging. These are two services that our Warehouse Team provides that take time, focus, and care; and they handle them as great professionals.
Finally, our Maintenance and Shop Teams have been the support behind all of our efforts. Our Shop Team is making sure that our farming teams have everything they need to tackle this harvest season and are alert and ready to provide the assistance needed to keep our equipment rolling. Our Maintenance Team has been doing the same back at our facility. With so much coming back to home base, Maintenance has been on point to monitor and keep our entire operation running smoothly.

New Employee Spotlight: Matt Rivers!
Tipton, IN- In May of this year, we welcomed Matt Rivers as our new Maintenance Supervisor. In his role, Matt is charged with the upkeep of buildings and processing equipment to ensure the good working order of our facility. Matt’s role also puts him in a position to help grow and expand our Maintenance Team in their knowledge as we continue to grow TSP.
A graduate of Tipton High School, Matt served 6 years in the US Navy and came to us with over 10 years of experience in his HVAC business. Now, the father of three daughters that are his whole world, Matt enjoys the life of a family man. He loves to spend time with his family outdoors.
When asked about what drew him to Total Seed, Matt said that he was looking to be closer to Tipton and closer to his friends and family. Matt also said, “I love it; it’s fast-paced and never gets dull. TSP is a fun place to work that I hope to put my impression on and make an impact at.”
Matt has certainly made his impact here and we are excited for all he will do as part of the Total Seed Team for years to come!
