New remote Customer Interaction requirements and guidance update
Remote gambling operators are advised to read the update on the introduction of new remote Customer Interaction requirements and guidance.
In April this year, the Commission published a set of new requirements, Social Responsibility Code Provision 3.4.3, which ensured that remote gambling operators had to do more to identify customers at risk of harm.
The bulk of the requirements will come into force on 12 September, but there have been some changes for a limited number of the requirements.
Online gambling business Spreadex Limited to pay £1.36 million
Gambling business Spreadex Limited is to pay £1.36 million after a Commission investigation revealed social responsibility and anti-money laundering failures.
The operator – which runs spreadex.com – will pay the money to socially responsible causes as part of a settlement with the Commission.
The Secretary of State has reappointed John Baillie and Catharine Seddon as Commissioners of the Commission commencing 31 December 2022 until 10 April 2024.
