Dear team,

It is with great sadness that we today process the news of the death of the Queen, who has been such a constant in all our lives over the years.

So much has changed over her reign – the NHS was only four years old when she took the throne in 1952, and throughout that time she gave unwavering support to the health and care system in this country culminating in her awarding the George Cross to all NHS staff earlier this year.

Clearly, the world goes on this week – our practices will remain busy, patients will rely on our services as ever – but I hope we will all still get time to reflect on this moment of national importance.

The Queen set such an incredible example of public service and dedication to others. I hope that in some small ways we can all live up to that example. I know that I will try to. Whatever our individual views on the institution of the monarchy might be, that would a fitting legacy for a life well lived.

Thank you,

Andy

Internal and External Communications

Please note that as we enter the official period of national mourning we will be following the national guidance on communications by public sector organisations for this period. This means that we will pause most proactive internal and external communications and events.

The exceptions to this are, of course, that we should carry on with all operational communications which are necessary for the running of our organisation, as well as all communications with patients about service provision, access, or uptake (for example promotion of services and vaccinations etc). Any questions or clarifications about this then please contact pcs.enquiries@nhs.net
Team updates
Andy McCoye Clinical Director appointment

We are really pleased to announce that Dr Andy McCoye has been appointed as our new Clinical Director of Primary Care where he will be responsible for leading the clinical teams at our Clover Group of practices.

Andy is a GP in the North of the City and has worked for PCS as Clinical Lead our Extended Access service. His wealth of experience and expertise will be of huge benefit as we continue to develop the services provided to patients of the six practices in the Clover Group. We look forward to welcoming Dr McCoye to his new role.
PCS Staff Rounders match - postponed

Thanks to everyone who signed up for the team rounders match. We've decided to postpone the event as a mark of respect given that it is likely that the Queen's State Funeral will be held early the following week. We'll be back in contact with a new date in due course.
