Headlines
Enhanced Access Update

As we count down to go-live, we will be keeping practices and PCNs who are signed up to the PCS at-scale service  updated through an email group. Please look out for these emails.

Contracts
We’ve had some queries from practice managers about the contracts you have been receiving. Please do not assume you’ve signed already, as we are now sending out additional contracts for your provision of GP hours and (for some practices) provision of estates. Reminder: If you do not intend to provide the GP hours into the service please let us know by email to pcs.enquiries@nhs.net
ANP and Visiting service Closure 30th September

The CCG and now ICB have supported general practice with Covid funding via PCS to provide in hours ANP and Paramedic visiting services. The funding for these will finish on 30th September and the service will close on that date.

We are exploring the idea of using some of the Enhanced Access hours in-hours to continue this service, and have discussed this with the ICB and three test PCNs. The idea has had a mixed response, so we'll re-visiting this idea in October, once practices/PCNs get a feel for EA, and the impact of the visiting services closure.

We will continue to provide updates in future service updates.
Andy McCoye Clinical Director appointment

We are really pleased to announce that Dr Andy McCoye has been appointed as our new Clinical Director of Primary Care where he will be responsible for leading the clinical teams at our Clover Group of practices.

Andy is a GP in the North of the City and has worked for PCS as Clinical Lead our Extended Access service. His wealth of experience and expertise will be of huge benefit as we continue to develop the services provided to patients of the six practices in the Clover Group.

The Clover Group delivers care to 30,000 patients, which is approximately 5% of Sheffield’s total population. It includes six practices, in five locations spread across four contracts. The practices are in some of the most deprived areas of the city with four sites being in the most deprived decile. We look forward to welcoming Dr McCoye to his new role.
