Fund for the Arts is Hiring!

Development Manager
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Development Manager will serve as a fundraiser and workplace campaign collaborator for the Fund for the Arts. They will deepen and expand engagement, involvement and support of Fund for the Arts by identifying, cultivating and soliciting regional businesses, foundations and individual donors. Central to this position is helping to steward a solid base of individual, corporate, and foundation support through implementation of individual meetings, workplace giving campaigns, direct mail solicitations, days of giving and passive giving methods (Amazon Smile, Round Up Campaigns, etc.). Primary opportunities for achieving growth targets in this position come from identifying and cultivating new relationships, improving donor acquisition and retention, and the deployment of strategic growth plans for annual giving.

Louisville Metro Government: ARP Sub-Granting Program
Deadline to Apply: September 23
Louisville Metro Government (LMG) has been awarded $250,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts as part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) sub-granting program. LMG serves as a pass-through agency for funds to be distributed to Louisville's local nonprofit arts agencies. The overall goal of this program is  to support Louisville's arts community as it continues to recover from the economic and health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.The ARP sub-granting program supports operating costs rather than programmatic costs. The ARP funds can go towards arts organization's personnel, stipends for artists, facilities, health and safety supplies, and marketing and promotional costs. No cost share or match is required for funding.

Team Kentucky: Nonprofit Assistance Fund
Deadline: October 1, 2022 at 4:30 PM

Nonprofit arts organizations in Kentucky are eligible for funding! The Nonprofit Assistance Fund was created to provide one-time assistance payments to eligible nonprofit organizations that experienced net negative revenue between calendar years 2020 and 2021. This assistance is being made from a $75 million appropriation from the State Fiscal Recovery Fund of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The Nonprofit Assistance Fund will make one-time direct relief payments to eligible nonprofit organizations of up to $100,000 per organization.

The arts enrich the lives of people of all abilities and backgrounds. In their commitment to amplifying the success of the Southeast’s arts ecology, South Arts offers micro-funding to supplement the efforts of arts organizations throughout our service area to make arts programs accessible to persons with disabilities.

Bourne-Schweitzer Gallery: Collective Resistance - The Politics of Personhood
Deadline: September 15, 2022
With the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe V. Wade, many Americans worry about the protection of their rights moving forward. If you feel your freedom to exist is under attack, we encourage you to use your voice and share your talents with us at Bourne-Schweitzer Gallery. Local artists of the Kentuckiana area are invited to submit work centered on the politics of personhood and the experience of marginalized identities. All artists and all mediums are welcome, from visual arts to performances, poetry, music, and video art.

The Woman's Club of Louisville: Eighty-Fourth Annual No-Jury Art Show
Deadline: September 16, 2022
Artists must be at least 18 years of age in the year 2022, and must reside in an area with a zipcode that begins with 400, 401, 402, or 471. The size of the painting, drawing, or collage is limited to three feet by four feet, including frame. Two dimensional entries should be equipped with hooks or wire ready to hang for exhibit. Sculpture is limited to three feet in length and width and to fifty pounds in weight. Photography, computer generated art, fiber arts, and jewelry are NOT eligible. The Woman's Club reserves the right to refuse any entry deemed inappropriate, or otherwise objectionable.

Josephine Sculpture Park: Outdoor Public Art Commemorative Bench in Frankfort, KY
Deadline: September 22, 2022

In partnership with the City of Frankfort, Josephine Sculpture Park is seeking to commission an original outdoor site-specific sculptural bench commemorating the historical location of racial terror lynchings in Frankfort, KY. The work of art will be permanently installed in downtown Frankfort at the north end of the Singing Bridge.

Louisville Visual Art: Fall 2022 AC Hotel Solo/Group Exhibition
Deadline: September 26, 2022
Louisville Visual Art (LVA), in association with AC Hotels (Nulu, LLC), is reviewing submissions from local artists for installation on the first and second floor lobby of the new AC Hotel for the 2022 season. Seven artworks will be selected. Artists of all mediums are encouraged to apply. All artwork must be ready to hang with the appropriate hardware. The AC Hotel exhibition space hosts 2 exhibitions per year. These artworks will have high visibility and will be prominently displayed within the restaurant/bar and foyer in the AC Hotel. Artist receives 100% of sale price when artwork is sold through the AC Hotel.

Louisville Free Public Library: Collider Artist-in-Residence Program

The Louisville Free Public Library (LFPL) is continuing its mission of supporting local artists and connecting them with the public through the COLLIDER artist-in-residence program. They are now accepting artist applications for January-June 2023 monthly residencies. These paid residencies will be in-person.

Louisville Visual Art: Urban Paint Out

Leave the four walls of your studio behind and experience painting in Louisville’s exciting downtown! Check-in will be at Ft Nelson Park (705 W Main St, Louisville, KY) between 9am-10am. Finished canvases can be dropped off between 2pm-2:30pm at Ft. Nelson Park for judging. This event is rain or shine.

Production Technicians at Kentucky Performing Arts (KPA) are primarily engaged in the execution of events and maintaining KPA equipment, systems, and theaters. The Production Technician is responsible for providing the highest level of Production services to Kentucky Performing Arts staff, patrons, clients, and visitors. These aspects of the role require working knowledge of either professional audio consoles or lighting consoles. Title: Site Manager/Co-Music Librarian

The Site Manager is responsible for the setup and breakdown of LYO rehearsal rooms during the LYO season and for audition days. This includes moving racks of chairs and music stands, lifting individual chairs and stands, and arranging seating charts. This role manages weekly check-in, attendance, and some aspects of student records during the season, communicating with families as needs arise. The Site Manager works behind the scenes to supervise students and help rehearsals and concerts run smoothly. The Site Manager ensures a warm and inclusive environment for students to connect and establish a real sense of belonging, including leading simple social prompts for students to interact during rehearsal break.

Title: Presto Strings Instructors

This position is part-time, and includes approximately 60-90 minutes of weekly beginner strings instruction during the school year, along with basic administrative responsibilities to support the class and communicate with parents and school personnel. The Presto Strings Instructor is responsible for instructing weekly beginning Suzuki-influenced strings classes to 2nd-4th graders in an underserved elementary school. This includes working closely with the school to recruit and retain students and to provide a September info session. The instructor will also fit students for fractional-sized instruments owned by the LYO, manage inventory, supply reports to the Executive Director, submit instruments for repairs as needed, and lead at least 2 performances in the spring. The Presto Strings Instructor may also on occasion be requested to assist with regular LYO rehearsals or concerts, both behind the scenes or as a substitute instructor/conductor.
