Principal's Update

Trail Ridge Families,

Welcome to September! We are moving right along here at Trail Ridge and everyone is doing their very best as we push our students toward success. It has been a really strong start to the school year. Personally, I have enjoyed catching up with our returning students and meeting all of our new students. We are in for a great school year!

In the next couple of weeks, I will be conducting our 1-on-1 meetings with every student. We will be reviewing their progress and the goals they have written for their own success this year. Make sure to follow up with your student after their meeting with me to find out how they feel they are doing. We want to make sure we continue our partnership to allow each and every student to grow towards success.

Parent Conferences are on the calendar and scheduled for the end of this month. We are looking forward to being able to host these in-person meetings and they are an integral part of our plan to help students. Conferences will be held on Sept 27th, 29th, and Oct 4th. Parents will need to sign up for a window of time to attend on any of these days. The windows will be 3:15 – 5:00 and 5:30 -7:15. You can attend anytime during the window you sign up for, however, we want to remind you that we have a built-in dinner break for teachers from 5:00-5:30 and conferences will end at 7:15pm. We will send out more information next week before the sign ups open on Friday, Sept 16th.

One final thought as we head into the weekend: It has been outstanding to see all of the students who have been participating in our extracurricular activities and clubs on campus! There is a lot of positive energy throughout the building. If your student has yet to sign up for an activity, we ask you to encourage them to be part of the fun! Great things are happening here and we want all of our students to be participants!

As always, reach out to us if we can help with anything. Enjoy your weekend!

iPad Insurance Deadline

The LTP Student iPad Insurance window will close on September 15th. Parents who wish to join the insurance pool for the current school year will need to make at least a partial payment before that date. All students are eligible to join the insurance pool for the school year.

This optional insurance fee will be voided on September 15th if no payment has been made.

(Payments may be made online or via cash or check at the school office.)

Gifted & Talented Nominations

Each year St. Vrain Valley School District completes a process to identify students in grades K-12 who demonstrate exceptional ability or performance in one or more academic or talent areas and may therefore qualify for Gifted and Talented educational services. These students usually perform at least two years above grade level in their strength area(s) and require additional academic challenges in order to support their continued educational growth and progress. In addition, they usually demonstrate characteristics of unique creativity and high motivation in their strength areas.  For more information on the nomination process:

Patriot's Pen - VFW Youth Scholarship

Each year, nearly 68,800 students in grades 6-8 enter the VFW’s Patriot’s Pen youth essay contest for a chance to win their share of more than $1.4 million in state and national awards. Each first place state winner receives a minimum of $500 at the national level, and the national first place winner wins $5,000!

The essay contest encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300- to 400-word essay, expressing their views based on a patriotic theme chosen by the VFW Commander-in-Chief. Before submitting your essay, read the rules and eligibility requirements, and find your sponsoring local VFW Post as applications must be turned in by midnight, Oct. 31. Download and complete the 2022-2023 entry form here.

 The 2022-23 theme is:

"My Pledge to Our Veterans."
