Our purpose simply put; loving God, serving others, doing no harm.
Hello Mt. Bethel.
Thank you for joining the meet and greet sessions; they have been going great. We have had four sessions so far. I was able to get to know you more and understand the church better. I am visiting people who are in home-bound, and it is my joy to be connected with them as well.
Thank you for sharing your stories with me. It is privilege to listen to them. After the sessions, I feel that I got closer and connected with you all. I look forward to having more sessions this week and next week.
I believe that the church is not just a building, but it is you, the people. You are the church. Your faith stories and expression are a very important part of Mt Bethel.
As Mt Bethel made the decision to change our season into a legacy ministry, I would like to invite you to express and celebrate who we are. You have been a part of Mt Bethel and have cherished the ministry so far. Hence, it is important to express your voice and share who you are in this transitional time.
If you want to celebrate something about Mt Bethel, such as good memories, holy sacred experiences, or faith stories, I welcome you to give testimony during our worship services. Before we draw a close to the ministry of Mt Bethel, let us express how we were blessed by Mt Bethel; how God worked at Mt Bethel; about the moment you felt that the Spirit had filled you; or how God blessed you in your life.
We will have one volunteer in each month. Please, feel free to contact me and let me know if you would like to be part sharing in this testimony of this celebration.

In honor of National Grandparents Day,
this Sunday, Sept 11 - 10am
We encourage you to invite your grandchildren & great grandchildren too
to Worship with you at Mt Bethel.

(Worship will be led by grandparents & grandchildren)
Thanks to a federal proclamation signed by President Jimmy Carter,
Grandparents Day became an official holiday in 1978, the first Sunday after Labor Day. The proclamation, establishing National Grandparents Day stated 3 distinct purposes: 1) To honor grandparents; 2) To give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children's children; 3) To help children become aware of strength, information and guidance older people can offer.

God's Word declares: "Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." Exodus 20:12

God's Word declares: "I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that lived first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, lives in you."
2 Timothy 1:5

We of Mt Bethel Church thank God for grandparents who "grandly" love, nurture,
and lead.

Our Worship Team Chairs Mary Anich, Joann Larson are looking for volunteers to help with Worship by leading-reading the Call to Worship &
 reading Scripture.

Yes, we grandparents can honor our Grandparents and say "Yes" to this opportunity ...multiple times.
Currently there is good availability for you to choose your Sundays to help us Worship.
Pass along your  "Yes" to grandmas Mary Anich & Joann Larson or Pastor Hannah.
When You Thought I Wasn’t Looking by Mary Schilke-Korazan
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.
When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always talk to, and I learned to trust in Jesus.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good, and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and wanted to say, 'Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.'

September 16 & 17, celebrate Mt Bethel's 50 year partnership with
Neighbors Inc.
We are invited to join the staff and board of directors from Neighbors Inc to celebrate our 50 year milestone anniversary together.  Mt Bethel Church has supported Neighbors Inc since the beginning and Neighbors Inc wants to gather with us and the other supporting churches to say thank you.  Friday: live music, food & drinks. Saturday: family fun day activities.
We can tour the newly remodeled building and participate in a volunteer project.
More details here.
Back in 1972 in response to a local economic crisis, (the Swift & Co. meatpacking plant closed in 1969, and the demise of Armour & Co. followed a couple years later)  area churches met to form an "association" to help people who were struggling. The purpose of this association was to “provide personal assistance primarily through the use of volunteers to individuals in need.” The association, would become Neighbors, Inc., led by volunteers. Initially Neighbors focused on providing food and clothing. Throughout the years, the programs and services at Neighbors have continued to adapt to meet the changing needs of the community.
This original philosophy of “neighbors helping neighbors” is as true in 2022 as it was 50 years ago. Thank you, Mt Bethel Church members & friends for being part of the 50-year milestone anniversary. With our ongoing support, Neighbors Inc will continue to provide meaningful service to the community for years to come.

Throughout the year, Mt Bethel Church makes generous offerings - donation to Neighbors Inc for meeting community members need.  Neighbors Inc is a good steward of resources and generous in meeting community members needs if/when needed. Thank you Mt Bethel Church, neighbors helping neighbors.
Sunday, September 18, at 3p the “Little White Church” in Inver Grove Heights is hosting the telling of the Kochendorfer family.  In the book “Malice Toward None,” author Dan Munson tells the story of the four surviving children orphaned by the Dakota War & how members of Old Salem cared for and adopted the children, helping them to not merely survive but to thrive.  Click here to view the "why & how" Dan Muson come to write this book.      Live streamed on Sept 18,
