Career Development / Hiring Events & Opportunities:

• PVCC has a number of employers who recruit on campus during the week. Today Tuesday, September 6, the U.S. Navy will be available between 11am - 2pm.  On Thursday between 12-2pm, The Market and Chick-fil-A (near Lowe's) will be hosting recruiting tables. Stop by and ask them about the jobs/benefits they offer!!
• UVA's Engineering Career Fair & Conference is open to students from other colleges where you could meet 80+ employers at the Employer Expo being held between 10am-3pm in Newcomb Hall on Thursday, September 8. Email gdavis@pvcc.edu for the list of employers. There are also a number of workshops being held between 9am-5pm to learn about internships, networking, interviewing, career development for students with disabilities and more!  No suit required (but wear something more than jeans and a t-shirt to make a positive impression).  
• Boar’s Head Resort is hosting open interviews on Friday, September 9, 10am-2pm and Saturday, September 10, 11am-3pm for multiple areas including their restaurants, guest services, housekeeping, the spa, Birdwood Golf and more. Bring your resume or listing of prior work experience. • Mark your calendar for next week's PVCC Club Fair to meet 25+ club leaders or faculty/staff sponsors between 11am-1pm on both Wednesday, September 14 and Thursday, September 15.  Being involved with clubs / activities not only makes college more fun but adds to your resume, especially since so many clubs do community service. Learn more about the many clubs PVCC has and if you can't attend the event, fill out this form if you'd like to be contacted about clubs; fill out this form if you'd like to lead a club, whether it exists yet or not!
• There will be other hiring events next week including the United States Postal Service (9/15), National Ground Intelligence Center (9/16) and Wintergreen (9/17).  PVCC's Career Services maintains an online calendar of the hiring events we hear about.  
• Attention healthcare and education students (or anyone geared toward helping others) - Region Ten offers FREE Mental Health First Aid Trainings for both Adults and Youth each month. The next workshops will be - Youth on October 26 (9:00-2:30), Adults on November 10 (9:00-3:30) and Youth on December 14 (9:00-2:30). Space is limited. To register, email MHFA@regionten.org

• Wintergreen is seeking Introductory, Development, and Competition Coaches for Race and Freestyle teams for this coming ski season (2022-23) paying $17/hour. These teams consist of both skiers and snowboarders.

• Amazon Web Services seeks a full-time Install Technicians and a full-time Network Deploy Technicians.  The VA-based opportunities include Manassas, Herndon, Chantilly, and Auburn.

• Goodwin William Staffing seeks candidates for this full-time Inventory Associate position that pays $15/hour. They also posted on CCN for a Lead Process Specialist paying $23/hour (DOE) and a Customer Service Representative paying $16-20 (DOE; this position is located near Staunton).
