Ahhh Sunday Streets. Is there a more wholesome event? I think not!
This year we drew HUGE worms with sidewalk chalk, inspected various soil components, and just had a wonderful time with our neighbors! Thank you Missoula in Motion!!
PSA: Members can now update addresses on their portal! If you have had a recent move or change of address simply log onto your Soil Cycle portal and follow this pathway: Service & Support --> Request a Change of Address
Easy Peasy!
Send Halp!
We need bungee cords!
13 Bungee Cords Later...
Have you ever been driving around Missoula and seen a Soil Cyclist tip their trailer and send trashcans flying? No? Well, if you live here long enough you will certainly see it at some point- hopefully just not in the Orange Street tunnel :'(
Moral of the story is, we need more bungee cords!!! If you're doing some classic fall cleanup of the garage and find a basket snappy hookers you no longer need- please bring them by!!!
Upcoming Events
Pumpkin Reharvest season is here!!!
This is one of our favorite events and one of Missoula's favorites also! Pumpkin drop offs will be at the classic locations for a week after Halloween. Find pumpkin dumps at: Soil Cycle, Southgate Mall, Caras Nursery, MUD, Rockin Rudys and the Good Food Store!!
PLANT SALE! October 23rd!
Our annual plant sale is going to happen October 23rd, from 10-2! Come peruse the plants, enjoy some live acoustic tunes, drink some kombucha or coffee, and nibble a pastry! This event is such a great way to support Soil Cycle, and who doesn't love taking a new plant home to tend to for the winter?
Climate Ride is coming up and this year is extra special! Here's why:
Climate Ride Legend, Kael Fry, has chosen Soil Cycle as his beneficiary for all the fundraising he accomplishes with his 300 mile ride across Death Valley (glad its him, not us (food scraps wouldn't smell too good after 300 miles in Death Valley)). The ride consists of 100+ cyclists pedaling in a 5-day, 300 mile ride to raise money for more than 100 fantastic organizations that are leading the nation in climate change, clean energy, active transportation, sustainability, and public health, and to raise public awareness around these issues.
Preeeety neat!
In order to participate in Climate Ride, he must raise at least $2,800 in pledges. After reaching this minimum goal, all donations will be matched by the Algorand Foundation.
Got spare funds? Help out Soil Cycle and Kael by donating to his ride here!
FIRST FRIDAY REMINDER- OCTOBER 7th
Soil Cycle opens our doors and welcomes folks of all agesfor tours on First Fridays between 3 & 4 PM. We invite you to stop by our 1st Street location and see composting in action, take in our demonstration garden, say hello to Hera, or even grab a shovel and participate in the composting process.
We'd love to see you!
In other news....
Turns out climate ride is just really cool! There are so many opportunities for your favorite non-profits to make some extra cash through this event including nominating Soil Cycle for an Environmental Justice Action Grant! The Action Grants support organizations that are fighting systemic racism, making progress on environmental and social justice, and providing more opportunities to experience the outdoors and sports. That sounds like Soil Cycle to me!
As always, Soil Cycle needs people like you to help around the site to make magic happen. We are actively looking for volunteers, so send us an email or sign up below to get some time with us!
