Cassowary Aviary

 COMING SOON!


A new home for our Southern Cassowaries is under construction, and guests at our Annual Fundraiser on October 15th will be among the first to see it!  Nestled in the trees below Toad Hall Pavilion, this very large, secure enclosure will safely house our growing pair of cassowaries, while giving park guests a great view in a natural forested setting.

Meet a Flamingo Chick


An American Flamingo chick hatched in the park's Landing Zone aviary in July, giving guests an up-close view of flamingo nesting and chick rearing behavior. At approximately 2 months old, the chick is now beginning to eat on its own and is often seen away from its parents exploring other parts of the aviary. Check out the video to see the chick's first day!

Trick-or-treat with the birds in a safe, family-friendly environment. Costumed characters will be stationed throughout the park handing out candy to trick-or-treaters.  Enjoy Halloween-themed activity stations and animal encounters!

Please note that this event falls on a Monday. Sylvan Heights Bird Park is closed on Mondays, but will open at 5:00 p.m. for Trick-or-Tweet.
