Dear Members and Friends,
Emerging from the lull of summer to the bustle of autumn is, for many of us, a shift. It can take great effort, but hopefully we may feel helped along by grace, as well.
This Fall we will experience a kind of staggered start due to lengthy priest travel in the coming weeks. Our children’s program will begin on Michaelmas Sunday, October 2nd, and regular study groups each have their own start dates; please see below.
But in a sense, we begin again this Sunday with a community meeting, after the service, to look at some recent changes to our care groups and at other practical details of our life together. All are welcome!
with warmth,
Kate
(also on behalf of Jonah,
Patrick, Inken and Susan)
The Weekly Word
“What a person likes best may be God’s will, may be the voice of the Spirit striving with their spirit, not against it; and if it be not so — if the thing they ask is not according to his will — there is that consuming fire. The danger lies, not in asking from God what is not good, nor even in hoping to receive it from him, but in not asking him, in not having him of our council.”
~George MacDonald, from an unspoken sermon reprinted in Consuming Fire: The Inexorable Power of God’s Love.
