Saturday Scoop

Program Office Staff
  • This week's Program Office staff will be Mark Gorenflo. Drop by S440 and say hello!

Important: Updated Parking Logistics
Saturday Sep 10, Kick-off 1PM
  • We highly encourage carpooling, being dropped off, or public transportation on football game days.
  • Taxis and ride shares: Please note that Piedmont Ave at the stadium will be closed 2.5 hours before kick-off through the duration of the game. Therefore, you will need to walk to Hearst Ave. or Bancroft Way to be picked up.
Parking
  • Many campus lots are reserved for season ticket holders on football Saturdays, including all the usual lots, Berkeley Law, Underhill, Foothill, etc.
  • Allow extra time to arrive and walk to Haas.
  • Update: Instructions from the Special Events Parking Department
    • First try University Extension Lot (surface lot) (located at Bonita Way and University Ave).
    • If full, go to Genetics Lot Level 2 only (located at Berkeley Way at Oxford St). More details below.
    • An attendant will be at the entrance starting at 8:30AM. Say you are with the EW/Evening & Weekend MBA Program.
    • If the Genetics Lot is full, you will be redirected by an attendant to the next available lot.
  • The Maxwell Stadium lot across from Haas will not be available.
  • There is no shuttle service from campus shuttles or the Program Office.
  • It is a 1.2 mile walk from the Extension Lot to Haas and a 0.9 mile walk from the Genetic Lot to Haas (~20 mins.)

Road Closures and Traffic Advisories

  • Piedmont Ave will likely close around 10 or 11AM through the duration of the game.
  • If you do not have an afternoon class, please keep this in mind if you are thinking of taking a rideshare back to the Extension Lot.
  • If the game is over after 5PM, please expect foot traffic along Bancroft Ave. Thank you for your patience on football game days!

Genetics Lot Specifics
  • Level 1 is one way and you must drive all the way around to get to Level 2.
  • After parking, please use the pedestrian exit on the Southeast side (closest to Morgan Hall). It was to the left as you drove up the ramp to Level 2 (see photos below).
  • This will lead you up a spiral staircase to a covered exit (that sort of looks like a mushroom).
  • Once you reach the ground level, head east towards the Campanile and continue on to University Drive or the Free Speech Bikeway up to Haas.
